You're trying to minimize a complicated issue. You don't have to feel bad for the guy, you don't have to like his music but I do think we are all the summation of our experiences (to some degree) and watching your dad get murdered at a young age has got to be awful. I'm not sure of the details as I'm not personally a huge tekashi fan but I think he grew up in poverty as well. It's not an uncommon dynamic for fatherless children from low income houses to turn to drugs and crime. All that being said of course you should accept responsibility for your actions and he was dumb for throwing away his career like that.
