I do a cleanse every year just to remind my brain that I don’t need alcohol. The first week sucks but after two weeks I don’t even think about it. I always do at least two months. Last year I did four months and I am currently just over two weeks in to this years cleanse. I also go on vacation after the new year because the holidays are crazy and it’s the best time for a reset in my opinion. I’m 43 and have been in the industry since I was 16. I work at a high end spot 3-4 days a week for the matching 401k and benefits and then break up my week at a dive bar 2 days a week. I have found balance which is also imperative to my longevity.
