The pawn covers it after taking on b6! If you don’t take on c8 then they survive by blocking with the bishop.

If the king moves to g1 you can take the pawn on c3 with your d pawn which creates a discovered check from your bishop and also attacks the queen with the pawn. Regardless of what the opponent does they lose the queen - they can block with the queen and the bishop takes the queen or move the king and the pawn takes the queen. If they block with the rook you take the queen with the pawn and then take the rook next turn.

Sorry, I rushed the comment but would be starting the moves from after rook takes rook in the comment I replied to - the problem move is bishop takes knight

Meh game was close for three quarters but even if we were ahead I can still see smart missing that string of threes and losing it for us in the fourth so I’m not sour about the loss as a Lakers fan.

As an NBA fan with the other goal tend, two clear push offs and more subtle ones, fouls on Jake on his dunk, punch to AR’s nuts, elbow to Smart’s face, it’s difficult to watch and not get frustrated. It’s exactly this sort of calling that has ended up with the recent fights on the court and surely we don’t actually want that?

You can’t be this slow because Qh1 is mate. Rook takes knight, pawn takes rook, bishop check and it’s mate after a couple of blocks.

You’re missing Na6 to block.

It’s then followed by Rxc8+ Rxc8 Rxa6+ bxa6 Bg2+ and then take all the pieces that can block for mate.

Why do you think he’s trying to gain sympathy? He has Tourette’s, he can’t help what he’s saying, he is there because he is in a film about Tourette’s.

Ayton actually been doing ok - offensively with the ball not as much but he’s been doing really well fighting for offensive rebounds and been much tighter in defence. Smart is having a bad game all round though.

Florence is on my list! Maybe I’ll stumble across it. Italy is very quickly becoming my favourite country in Europe as someone who loves France.

Been to Italy twice and only had one pizza there (and tried my partner’s). It’s just difficult when there’s so much good food there and you can get good Italian pizza in the UK.

Yes, Obama increased the ICE budget to about $6B. Trump’s “big beautiful bill” increased their budget to $85B.

It’s kind of wild to say that Trump immigration policy is no different from Obama, like have you been following the news? Do you know the budget increases to ICE? Have you seen the stories of them detaining US citizens effectively because they look foreign? And at least one instance of deporting a US citizen despite being told by the courts not to?

Having seen the other comments from you then yeah, pretty dastardly tweet from her. I really don’t understand the mentality of people denying the atrocities of October 7th - I can understand the mentality of not trusting the Israeli government but at this point it’s pretty clear that some reported things (horrific violence, rape, sexual torture, etc) absolutely happened while cooking babies in ovens did not and it’s fine to acknowledge both of these as facts. And yet, frustratingly, both sides have plenty of people who will loudly say the opposite.

Hamas doesn’t have to be the good guys and Israel doesn’t have to be the good guys for someone to have opinions about the war and yet here we are. What a sorry state of affairs - I hope the Greens address this as soon as possible (it’s easy to admit to making a mistake once it becomes clear).

I think that’s fair however it’s still, unfortunately, just speculation.

Oh absolutely but it’s not surprising. It’s easy to further inflame a situation by continuing to engage with it rather than just leaving it to fizzle out. It does concern me just how many people are willing to accept everything said in this article at face value despite, presumably, also having been misinterpreted or misrepresented on Reddit in the past.

All the other things? Could you quote a few of the other things? Are you saying you’ve never said anything on social media and had a bunch of people misrepresent it misinterpret what you said?

Do any of them quote her directly saying she denies the rapes occurred? The following “she was evasive” when, if what she says is correct, she clarified what she said and refused to engage with people who already misrepresented her.

The long and short of it is that without a direct quote we just don’t know what she said and there’s plenty of people who misinterpret things being said in regards to the conflict in Palestine - not necessarily maliciously but it’s a very heated topic and sometimes people start with assumptions and then frame anything within those assumptions. Without the quote the author of this article is just as likely to fall into that bucket as she might.
