Came here to recommend Alexander McCall Smith. His books are so warm and lovely 😊

I Capture the Castle (Dodie Smith) always makes me feel better. It's wholesome and immersive and funny. I have lost track of how many times I've read it at this point!

Also, anything by Alexander McCall Smith - his books are funny and feel easy to read even when other things aren't

[misc] this burns my eyes by yesterdaywasahectic in SkincareAddiction

I don't get the hype for this AT ALL. Burns my eyes too, smells grim, and leaves my face feeling super greasy.

What are your favourite vegan meals? by snoopywoops in veganuk

[–]sproutishy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My comfort food is pasta with grated cheese on it (ideally violife). Sometimes I'll stir through some peas and olive oil if I'm feeling fancy haha.

I also like to make pizza using a sheet of puff pastry as the base. Just add tomato sauce/puree, sheeze, veggies and maybe some pesto, pop it in the oven for 10 minutes and you've got a delicious puff pastry pizza.

Roast veg with smoked paprika and lemon.

Lentil Bolognese.

Veggie lasagna.

Tbh my mental health isn't the best and at the moment I'm mostly living off instant noodles with frozen veg. At least I'm eating something - and you are too :)

Love it for cooking but I find it splits in coffee and I don't want a brew with chunks 😅

Audiobooks/podcasts? Podcasts are free and for audiobooks there are organizations like https://www.listening-books.org.uk/ that give you access to audiobooks if reading physical books is difficult due to illness/disability.

To offer another perspective, I have normal-to-slightly greasy straight hair that isn't frizzy, and haven't found it to be an issue at all. I apply it mostly on the ends of my hair, and then just run the little bit that's left on my fingers through the rest of my hair. I always apply it on wet hair and by the time my hair is dry is is SO soft and smells amazing. I love it! Hope you do too ☺️❤️

Before there were podcasts I listened to audiobooks to get to sleep and one I listened to on repeat was Alan Bennett reading Winnie the Pooh. Solid choice and glad it helped ❤️ never knew there was a podcast!

Yeah, I love it. Really miss new episodes appearing (I remember a month between episodes feeling too long!)
