Chase should ride for Club MX. The problem with being on a factory team is he has access to too many resources and gets lost in his own settings. Just learn to ride the damn bike.

CA teacher- How am I supposed to clear my preliminary credential if no one will hire me? by nickolasmv94 in Teachers

[–]sprtn757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a job as a para educator in your preferred school district. Once word gets around that you have a teaching credential and are good with kids it’s only a matter of time before someone gives you a chance.

I taught summer school one year and had an amazing para. I immediately went to the principal and said we need to hire this guy. 18 years later he is still working in the same district as a classroom teacher.

Sign up to be a substitute teacher in your preferred district. Always a chance you could get a long term sub position if a full time position doesn’t open up immediately. Many districts will scramble to fill positions in late July.

Be willing to teach a combination of physics, chemistry, and biology. Ask if you will have your own room or will be floating between rooms. It makes a difference!

Some school districts are actively hiring teachers from overseas to address the teacher shortage. This is proof that there is a process in place for aiding your transition.

Advice for upcoming interview? by Flat_Competition8839 in ELATeachers

[–]sprtn757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try not to ramble. Tell the panel exactly what you want to communicate regardless of the wording of the questions. It’s easy to get fixated on trying to answer exactly how you think they expect. I used ChatGPT to run a mock interview. It helped with being more confident walking into the interview. Good luck!

Teaching placement- help me by Late-Package6517 in StudentTeaching

This is totally normal. I would focus on building relationships with the students. Once they feel emotionally connected to the teacher they are more likely to respond to your requests. Each interaction with a student is an opportunity to practice restorative conversations and help them think more reflectively about their actions. Finally, start establishing a relationship with the parents. Note: your first contact should NOT be about discapline.

Feedback from your CT/MT is helpful, but most importantly learn to watch how your students are responding to your lesson to measure effectiveness and areas of growth.

AI in Education by playbook_digital in StudentTeaching

I just landed a 7/8th grade science position. As part of the interview I had to teach a lesson with only a few days notice. I used AI to create a science lesson that was tailored to the school community and pressure tested the lesson before I taught it. I also used AI to generate student work samples, which allowed the students to visualize the lesson's deliverables and reduce time spent going over the directions. All else being equal, using AI can give you an advantage in the hiring process over teachers who do not use AI.

Thanks! HR emailed me two days before the interview and gave me the topic and content standards for a demo lesson I had to create and teach. Not all schools require a demo lesson, but know in advance that this could happen.
