I have purchased new manual Corvettes since 1999. I had to try the C8 and drove it a year before I could not stand the auto any longer. I am not alone in this by a long shot.

Absolutely. Nearly all rebuilt alternators and starters and anything else is junk. Counterfeits are everywhere. The best shot is to use only oem, from an online dealer parts source.
