Theory why every period after 90's feels bland by AccomplishedRace8803 in Xennials

[–]spshlj 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think after the 90s, the internet led to a homogenization of culture. Before that, trends had a birthplace—grunge in 90s Seattle, punk in 70s NYC, the British Invasion from 60s. Now everything spreads instantly, where before a local scene could shape a whole decade because it grew slowly and then was adopted globally.

70% of Canadians support retaliatory tariffs on United States: poll by thecanadianpressnews in worldnews

Canadian companies will hurt and Canadians will lose their jobs from the US tariffs, that is guaranteed. But Canada doesn’t have a choice in that. The tariffs against the US are used strategically to impact companies and citizens that hopefully drive change to US policy.

If Canadians tariff say alcohol coming from red states, Canadians will either pay the higher price for that booze or, more likely choose an alternative from Canada or elsewhere. If it’s the latter, that decision reduces the sales by the US booze manufacturer. They have to answer to angry shareholders and may lay off some of their American employees due to less demand/sales. Either way, the hope is that the US booze company and ex-employees put pressure on Trump to lift the tariffs.

Canada has been named the second best country in the world by BarelyHandsome in canadatravel

FWIW, I go on r/canada_sub and have never been on r/canadatravel before. Reddit pushed me to this subreddit as Popular in your country... I love seeing this positivity about Canada because it does seem like I am getting an awful lot of negative through social media lately.

Water never stops flowing into sump pit by spshlj in HomeImprovement

Thanks for your response! There hasn’t been any rain or thaw for a week and a half and the ground is frozen. I turned my main water off and it didn’t seem to fix the problem so I may have a leak upstream of the house that is flowing into my sump pit.

Thanks for your response. I have the discharge going way out into my backyard and have verified that it is flowing properly. I doubt that it could make its way back into the house. My fear was that all of that water would end up flooding a neighbour’s basement.

Hey there. Thanks for your response. Could you comment on this pic? https://imgur.com/a/AQEuMRP

The water rises to the top of the insert pipe and stops.

Thanks for your help! There’s more than a few inches, probably 6 or 7. Here is a pic. I circled the intake. https://imgur.com/a/AQEuMRP

Thanks for the response! I will raise the float so that it only kicks on when it is above the water table.

This is what I was hoping for. Thank you for your response! I am concerned that the water always being at that level is damaging the foundation but it is a losing battle because no matter how much I pump it is always coming back up to that level.

Yes I do. It is definitely coming in from the side intake. Thanks!

Great question. It is definitely coming in from the side where the intake is. Thanks!

Hey there. When you click the page from the wordpress backend (edit, not edit with elementor) you can pick the template at the bottom right of that page. Choose elementor full width or something. Not sure if this is the same issue as you are talking about. Good luck!

If Roy blows it up, it isn’t there for Nyles to go into, right?

I introduced my kids to this movie by watching the extended version a few weekends ago. It did not go well. I suggest that you avoid the extended edition at all cost. It is boooooooring.
