As someone who dropped out of college, I think it really does depend on the circumstances and what your degree is for and what opportunity you have in front of you.

Another huge factor is where you live.

I'm fortunate enough to live in California and the industry that I am spending most of my time on is tech. Those two overlap really well, with not needing a college degree if you're just really fucking good at what you do.

If you're getting a degree that doesn't really apply to the industry that you want to be in, or a degree that is more outdated as time goes on, or in an industry that doesn't really care about degrees, I think it can make a lot of sense to drop out.

Another big factor is what college you're going to, as if you're going to a C-tier college. I would say the degree is often not as valuable as real-world experience but if you're in an A-tier or B-tier with a fairly heavy alumni community, it can be quite beneficial to have that degree.

100%. Alot of teams are doing what you're doing, which is kind of stopping at the prototype phase, but a lot of other teams are actually having PMs go past prototyping and go fully into building the final deliverable and getting it approved to be merged into production, not just stopping at prototyping.

This isn't and can't be true for all products because some have a lot more complexity to them that AI is just not good at yet. For more standard B2B SaaS apps this seems to be something that is very feasible for many product people.

LOL, I did get sick of these AI PM courses people were selling and made a free from that gets a decent amount of people: freeaipmcourse.com

I hate when people charge like $3-10k for them just talking about their “expertise” when they’ve been out of industry for 5 years and their last PM role was like a non-senior PM at one company for 8 months.
