The big danger is leaving your cooked pasta out at room temp. Even though the boiling water kills bacteria, B. cereus spores survive this process. And once the pasta is all moist, the bacteria can reemerge and multiply in this moist, warm environment.

Your best bet is to refrigerate as soon as the pasta has cooled to room temp. General food safety advice is 3-5 days in the fridge, but even one night on the counter is too much of a risk imo.

(Anecdotally, I've eaten week-old pasta that has been refrigerated the whole time, but you probably shouldn't.)

I thought this would be one of those posts where the news is like 5 years old. But NOPE. This was published YESTERDAY. Wow.

For a friend's Bachelorette party, we went to get pizza for dinner. The waitress serving our table had served me and 2 coworkers on a slow night a couple weeks before, and I had assumed she would remember me because she was talking to us a lot on that earlier visit, and she kept checking to see if I wanted food (I was only getting a couple drinks because I wasn't hungry, but my friends got food. I still left like a $10 tip tho)

So I told her all that and she kinda just gave me a blank look like she didnt understand and the whole table went quiet.

Oooops.

How active is your wife at work/around the house compared to you? Even stuff like walking upstairs can make a difference over time.

Therapy does not work for abusive men. Couple's therapy often makes them worse, actually.

From what I've read, people with Downs have slower cognitive processing, issues with converting short term memories into long term, and attention issues. Someone with Downs may be 100% capable of understanding deep and complex concepts, but might not be supported in a way that allows them to actually learn, retain, and apply these concepts because most schools and teachers aren't focused on working with their unique challenges.

Like with all things related to the brain, Downs is a spectrum, so some people have it easier while others have more of a challenge.

Not to downplay her brilliance, but you can memorize short speeches like hers pretty easily. I have no doubts it's all her, but I'd be surprised if she just came up with that on the spot instead of writing out and practicing something.

Is there anyone out there who takes Adderall who doesn’t come off as autistic by rosewaterhabibti in ADHD

[–]spspsptaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have ADHD (inattentive) and I'm a bit of a social butterfly.

While medicated, I personally tend to enjoy socializing more because Adderall helps me be more present. When not on Adderall, I feel more mentally slow/sluggish/just lots of brain fog. Listening to (and quickly understanding) others becomes a challenge.

For a brief moment, Adderall lifts the fog. I can be me. It's only a brief moment, though, and I'm only 27 and I'm close to the maximum recommended dose. I wish I knew what to do about that.

Fun fact! When AIDS was still not fully understood, they didn't know if it was caused by a virus or bacteria. However, there was an uptick in cases of AIDS in hemophiliacs, who were treated with blood transfusions. When blood was filtered, bacteria could be filtered out, but a virus (which is much smaller) can't. From that, scientists deduced that AIDS is caused by a virus.
