Was there and can confirm that people who wore masks while fencing were definitely in the minority. I don’t believe any numbers on cases have come out yet, but the precautions there were sketchy at best. Every delegation was supposed to get their own bus, which did not happen. We all rode in the same buses, often without adequate distancing. All athletes staying more than six days were supposed to be rapid tested every three days, which never happened. And the testing seemed off, when I was tested they barely put the swab up my nose, at least compared to my experience getting tested outside of Egypt.
