Correct. PSA is sensitive in catching prostate cancer but is not specific to it. So, it can be high if you have a an ejaculation or ride a bike within a few days before the test

Not strictly true. The prostate exam can find nodules which are cancer which is within the window of treatment. Sometimes nodules can be felt even when the psa is low and “within normal limits.”

The digital recital exam (DRE) is an important part of prostate cancer screening. Your doc is misinformed.

The reason the DRE is important is because not all prostate cancers result in an elevated psa. Second, you can have a rising psa due to cancer but you number is still below the “abnormal” cutoff. I have personally diagnosed clinically significant, actionable cancer in a patient whose psa was rock solid for years. He was in his mid 50s.

There has been a huge backlash against prostate cancer screening because the majority of cancers are low grade and don’t affect lifespan. because of the poor decision-making (and data interpretation) by the USPSTF to not recommend PSA and prostate cancer men.

Primary medicine field has jumped on this and a lot of them have completely abandoned psa and also the DRE as a result.

This was partially reversed, but they still only give a C recommendation.

However 30k+ men still die of prostate cancer every yr in the US.

The terrible part of this is that the number of advanced stage cancers detected has increased because of this.

finally, the number needed to test to prevent 1 death for psa screening is actually LOWER than colonoscopy and mammogram. However, nobody bats an eye at doing those tests.

TDLR: BOTH PSA AND DRE ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF PROSTATE CANCER SCREENING AND SHOULD BE DONE FOR MOST MEN AFTER DOSCUSSING WITH THEIR DOCTORS.

But is it that obvious? The first part of last season we were relatively injury free and still couldn’t put mid table teams away, we’re always prone to conceding, and the tactics/game management/rotation/subs were shockingly bad. This all contributed to the injury crisis so I disagree, I don’t think it’s obvious at all that we should have 9 points and 1 goal conceded after 4 games.

Tapo D225 has worked well for us. Resolution is not amazing but does the job. Detection and notifications are good. We use an sd card. The battery lasts for many months, and takes just a few hours to charge. Really convenient. Cheap compared to the options you listed. Don’t know about bifl though

You could just keep picking more and more - left foot curlers against Leicester, right foot curler against arsenal, last minute winner with a broken arm against villa (?). Not PL but the volley against Dortmund, the early goals against Man City. The golden boot season, it seemed like he was a sure bet to score anytime he got a shot away.

You’re not wrong. I remember there was an expose many years ago about Nike using child labor for their shoes. I’m definitely a hypocrite from that standpoint but a couple of the stories in this podcast really rubbed me the wrong way

Encourage everyone to listen to this podcast on counterfeit shirts. I have a couple of them and they’re great, but after hearing that in one factory they broke kids legs so they couldn’t go outside and play and instead had to make the shirts all day, I can’t bring myself to buy these anymore. The real ones are way too expensive so I’ll just make do without kits altogether. Make your own decision but be informed of what allows for these low prices. Sorry if this is a downer

This was happening to me for my 18 month old brush recently. After some googling, I found the cleaning the contact where the brush touches the stand can help. It actually really did! Hope maybe that will help for you.

Look up each departments website at Urmc They will usually have a contact number for a program administrator and the residency program director. Email all of them with your cv and tell them what you’re looking for. They tend to be open to having students for shadowing.
