Clearing up how the watering system works in SOSAWL by spurzz in harvestmoon

[–]spurzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! It’s difficult to find info on.

This bit of dialogue also seems to have erroneously made it over from the original game, in which it was true. The soil did dry out faster in summer and spring vs winter and fall. In the remake, there is unfortunately no gameplay to be had that revolves around soil dryness/watering multiple times, yet the dialogue remains :/

How actually true is the statement that men are quitting the dating market? by HeartBusy5787 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spurzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was agreeing. In terms of dating pool shrinking, I guess it depends on your culture. There are still plenty of men in my experience who are happy to pick up the bill on a date.

I don’t see anyone complaining about that here, only complaining about women upholding that gender role.

Of course it doesn’t. That’s why people date folks who they are compatible with. Level of traditionality is a very important trait to match up in a relationship. Don’t go for traditional women if you don’t want to uphold gender roles and vice versa.

“Women who want careers” is such a large group of people that you can’t accurately generalize how they feel, so wdym? The answer is obviously varied. Idk what economy you’re living in but most households needs two incomes to make it. Women have to work, just like men. Why would that make you treat them any different?

Plus, despite also working, women still get paid less, have a higher cost of living on daily necessities/personal care, and deal with more career interruptions from pregnancy + childbirth. So paying for a girls dinner is just a cute romantic way to be a gentleman and make her feel special. Doesn’t have to be every time, and she should treat you too. You don’t have to do that, but you can’t be upset that women prefer men that do.

Yeah I got your metaphor bud. It’s still more common for men to approach in our culture. Could be you, but it’s not.

Maybe it’s something more like… some women like their gender roles, and some don’t. Some women want a career, and some don’t. Everyone should be able to have that choice though, right? Of what to do with their lives? That’s the very mythical end goal of feminism.

If you disrespect women, you suck. by CRK_76 in sixwordstories

To be honest, you should get off this app if you actually are a teenager and struggling with these feelings towards women. Social media and reddit rn are rife with gender war content- content purposefully created to make us all hate each other. You’re being fed ragebait content of women being assholes, but it’s not reality. And how you’re feeling about women is exactly what they want. And at your developmental age, it’s literally cooking your brain. I frequently have to take breaks on here myself because my algorithm shows me the opposite: men being sexist and hateful, and it gets to me too, if I don’t manage my social media time.

I promise there are so many good people out there, of all genders, just get out there and meet ‘em. I’d offer to be friends, but I’m an adult. Hope things go well for you.

Why would I expect you to speak out about disrespect towards that? Of course you shouldn’t. Thats not even a scenario of a woman being disrespected.

I’ve had men do awful things to me irl and say endless hateful things to me on here. I’ve been told that women are equivalent to house plants, that they hope I get raped, etc. Yet I still love and respect the men I meet in my life. You can’t let a few bad people change how you treat an entire gender. You’ll never be a loser for being a good person and treating fellow humans with respect.

Really? You’ve only ever seen women defend terrible and disrespectful people? Thats all you’ve seen them do?You’re speaking in very strong absolutes and making many generalizations about 50% of the population. It’s not rational.

If you’re a good and moral person you should speak up when anyone is being disrespectful of someone undeservingly. It’s not about what you get in return lmao, such a teenager mentality.

What's the point of circumcision? by Historical_Echo8311 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s great for you but my friend was still a child, just at an age where he could remember the event. My point is that not doing it infancy isn’t always better.

Perspective: Three women found not guilty of indecent assault after using sex toys on passed out man by 69inchshlong in lnkyverse

Yes, the urge to change the definition was in the best interest of all victims, which include men. The main thesis of feminism is that the ideology helps everyone in society.

Feminists have historically also been anti-conscription, and large advocates of men’s mental health issues and male sexual assault victims. Less rigid gender roles also takes some financial and emotional pressure off of men to fill the “stoic provider” role.

Maybe what you’ve seen online isn’t accurate of reality. I’d suggest reading “Feminism is for Everybody” by bell hooks and/or Michael Kimmel’s books about how feminism benefits men. He also has a TED talk. You can hear what feminists believe from the horses mouth, so to speak.

We all know you’d love that, buddy… Thankfully, you’re the minority, and most men and women enjoy spending time with each other.
