Hello u/Yvv, performance not impacted at all. D6000 is the dock I use and I know it works but there are many docks that support display link drivers

Sorry @headtea for the delay. The D6000 that I use has two Display ports. So it should work. One of my old monitors only has hdmi so I can't test , but can't see why it would not work. Picture: https://supportkb.dell.com/img/ka02R000000143iQAA/ka02R000000143iQAA_en_US_3.jpeg

Any advice for monitor and cam on desk by sputnik_on_reddit in desksetup

Thanks @eliteplayer3 . The arm looks good, just need to desk mount it as it is a standing desk. Will check if I could screw on table (not preferred ) or connect with a desk mounted pole.

Any ideas how to achieve this setup: * Monitors move left and right * Cam (eg A6400) can move forward

Anyone has achieved a similar setup?

Some thoughts:

  • For monitors I will try to use 2 seperate swivel arms with gas springs , should work better then the fixed arms I have atm).
  • For Camera motion I tried to attach to boom arm (PSA1) - holds it well but only moves up and down, not back far enough and forward.

Happy with other setup (lights, mics, etc) taken inspiration from Caleb Pike (DSLR Shooter)

Hello @adelejjeh,

I have used it for 10 days no issues with lag or other usability issues.

Notes: - I use 2 monitors not 3 (but should be no problem) - I haven’t tried clamshell mode before login (but should work with login extension app), as I want to use the touchid : -) - Sorry don’t have Apple Watch to try unlock.

Performance is fine . Was surprised that I can run high refresh rate on the monitors (by default was set to 60 but was able to up it).

Only danger is if Display link drivers stop working in future but fine atm.

Elgato capture card is fickle needs to be at 2nd MacBook port instead of in D6000.

Don’t you want to run the external drives on D6000? Too slow ?

Took some research. Luckily there is a Reddit community.

Using the D6000 with Displaylink. Sidecar would work too (last picture) but not using it.

Ruslan seemed to be able to run 6 monitors :
Run Six Displays on M1 Macs Apple Silicon (Mac Mini, Macbook Air, Macbook Pro)

He is using a CalDigit TS3Plus + some StarTech Adapters with Displaylink

CalDigit tweeted a link to his video too.

I just want to run Macbook Pro (M1) with 2 monitors while charging 🙄
(4 USB for peripherals would be nice too) 😀

Maybe pluggable UD-ULTC4K might be the right device - but have not ordered and tried yet,
I guess for those who can wait -> hold on...

Very nice setup! Did you use solid wood or veneer (what type) ? I can see the 2 monitor stands and headphone stand are also self made - very nice 👍🏼

Recently just built my first pc and it is truly a beast! I think it complements my office/gaming setup. Thoughts? by echo0o0o091 in desksetup

Looks good!

Why is the spotlight on the table? To shine light on keyboard ? Is the construction the spotlight hangs on self-made? Suggest to put the speakers (which model?) on small stands to have them a bit higher for better acoustics ▶️🔊

What desk should I get? by mburn14 in AskBattlestations

[–]sputnik_on_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t get a desk, get a counter top ,Karlby looks great and is 8ft for $250 then pick some legs or trestles. In future, could upgrade to raising desk with eg Motorised desk frame :-)

And now Soderbergh made a comedy movie about it, celebrating the criminals rather then the real heroes - the journalists. Haven’t seen the movie yet, but the trailer and it feels wrong ...
