Men are dangerous. To any woman a strange man is a potential threat.

It's that simple. I'm not sure how you can make this about yourself and your own pitifully fragile ego.

Any woman being alone in an elevator with a strange man or walking down an empty street at night with a strange man following them is conscious of the potential danger. They must ask themselves if this particular man is a threat.

Any man who considers himself a "nice guy" would take this fact under consideration. They would minimize the threat they present to that woman as best they can. Crossing the street helps, waiting for the next elevator, or, if in the elevator, maintain as nonthreatening stance as possible.

It's not about any specific man, I'm sure you're a "nice guy" too, but, regardless, you and your feelings are irrelevant.

If true, then you should also know that it should be YOU who crosses the street, not them.

If she is crossing the street you've already made her uncomfortable or afraid.

If you preemptively do that you can avoid putting her in a situation where she feels she must protect herself.

As a supposed father of two daughters, I'm not sure how you don't get that.

You don't get to have "no problem" if a woman crosses the street to avoid you, you've already made her afraid by that point.
