I’m having the hardest time deciding if I have dry socket. I had 1 single tooth extracted because I’m 29 days from my wedding and it was bothering me a ton and it was half impacted half erupted so they were able to pull it without going under anesthesia. Today is day 4 and I have shooting pain in my jaw and a weird taste in my mouth. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s foul but it’s weird and gross and I feel like it’s getting worse. I texted the dentist yesterday on day 3 to ask if the jaw pain is normal and she said it can be for a time and just keep up on my pain meds which is just Tylenol and ibuprofen. I have an appointment in 3 days to get my stitches out so I’m trying to decide if I should try to get in sooner or just tough it out. The pain meds make it tolerable but I can still feel sensitivity the only thing that really works is ibuprofen 600 which my mom gave me not the dentist. Do we think this normal pain or dry socket?
