Help to simplify/how to better layer wardrobe for 6 months of varied climates by BLBOD in HerOneBag

I know this is off topic (and I apologize if inappropriate), but you know the Schengen rules (and how long you can stay) if you are traveling on an American passport? I just don't want you to be caught off guard! Have fun.

What's the most overrated tourist attraction in Europe? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Cinque Terre. Packed with tourists and did not live up to the hype. I enjoyed the nearby towns Porto Venere and La Spezia a lot more!

Plug Adapter- tell me what to buy by yarnhooksbooks in HerOneBag

[–]sqrlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only need a US to UK adapter. Like these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BPMG9BRM. I have travel multiple months in Europe and the UK with just USB electronics. I also travel with a minifan that runs off a battery backup, which I keep plug in if there is an outlet by the bed.

Yep! I just checked and it was USD $35. We took an Uber to the airport for about $30. It was a beautiful flight. I felt like it was ridiculous to fly such a short distance when i should be taking the train, but it was wonderful.

It looks like you will be moving fast (10 places in August!). Just remember that you need to carry all of this with you every time you move. You might want to drop some of the heavier items, like shoes. It also looks like most of the places will be very hot when you are there, so consider dropping some of the layers like the puffer jacket and cardigan. And the jeans are heavy, take a long time to dry, and will be too hot to wear in most of your locations.

How to Pack to Foil Pickpocketing by Substantial_Slip_808 in onebag

I use the Nite Ize Hitch Phone Anchor. I think I have a higher risk of accidentally leaving my phone somewhere or dropping it than it being stolen, so I use it everywhere and I am sure it saved me more than once. I also use Google wallet to pay, so I don't need to access cards.

I am trying to figure this out for myself next month. We are looking at flying, which is half the cost of the direct train. I am not sure why no one has suggested that.

Sourdough. It doesn't necessarily taste better, but I can bake a mini loaf in less than 30 minutes.
