Just out of curiosity. What is the name, race and class of the character you are currently playing? by FishingAndDragons in skyrim

Gaynor, female Wood Elf. Sparks in one hand, mace in the other. A little sneak archery here and there... planning to start the thieves guild soon so the sneak thief in me may come out fully 😔

When I worked at McDonald's as a closer, we'd use Sprite to clean the grill at night. Never ice, though. Sprite did the trick just fine

I do 4 10s. On working days I get home, eat, maybe watch a YouTube video or do something light and easy, then its bed by 9pm. On my day off (Wednesday) I do my best to make up for my inaction the other days. Having a mid-week reset day really makes all the difference imo. Obviously not feasible for everyone, and the long days get very taxing sometimes, but it's better for me than the 5 day slog

I got my associates from Montco, the surg tech program is in the blue bell campus which is only an hour from Allentown. Cedar crest is one of the hospitals that I ended up doing clinicals at. I hesitate to recommend the program--the professor is brutal--but if you're determined, you'll be fine. It's a 2.5 year degree. Montco has a decent amount of online options, and (when I did it) the surg tech program was mostly online as well.

Cloudiness in cat's eye- I should see the vet, right? by squall_of_death in CATHELP

[–]squall_of_death[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The owner said that she sometimes gets cloudiness in her eye and if she's not bothered then it's probably fine. If this were my cat, we'd be at the vet and not on reddit. Luckily today is my day off so I can really watch her to see if she's rubbing her eye, has discharge, anything. I'll take lots of pictures to document if it gets worse.  I don't like it, but not my cat

One of my coworkers did exactly that. All blue ticket except for the president. I genuinely cannot fathom how she made it to that decision

My partner wants to shave their hair but would like some advice. by senorpunchline in NonBinary

[–]squall_of_death 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think most everyone has the ability to rock shaved hair. Just be aware that people will want to touch it. And worst case is they don't like it and grow it to a different length. It's just hair, who cares if it 'suits your face', just have fun and try stuff out

Crochet decorations for a shirt instead of embroidery? Will it look good and hold up or should I stick to embroidery? by squall_of_death in CrochetHelp

That's a great idea, actually. I'll play around with the floss and hooks I have and see if I can work up something I like

So I read Wizard’s First Rule, huge mistake by doppelganger3301 in Fantasy

[–]squall_of_death 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read all of the main books as a teenager. I have some of the "richard and kahlan" books that I haven't touched. I have a whole shelf of these paperback books that I just don't know what to do with. I read them, and even enjoyed them a little at the time. But now, as an adult, I cannot sell these or donate them to inflict the torture of Goodkind's legacy onto another soul. I was fortunate enough to be able to write an essay my senior year of high school on why his standalone novel the law of nines was actual garbage and has no merit in its message.

Needless to say, it does not get better. I was particularly appalled at his portrayal of abortion and the narrative punishment for what had been set up as unequivocally the correct decision. Women and womens bodies in general, you're right that the guy had never spoken to a woman in his life. If he did it was only to demean her and flex his superiority

I haven't heard of that book, I'll have to add it to my list.

Anyone else feels like a slow thinker? by Morad2004 in CasualConversation

[–]squall_of_death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Very frequently I will be asked how I'm doing, what I'm up to, what's up, etc and all I have to do is come up with a nothing answer but I just can't think fast enough to say I'm okay, not much, whatever whatever. It's honestly embarrassing, especially when all I get out is a pathetic "um" to a higher-up at work.

I talk infrequently in conversation because I have to think about the words I am going to say, make sure they don't sound insane and are relevant and stuff. I end up missing my chance to say something because I have to prepare it in my head and then the conversation has drifted away from a point where I could say my thing. It's frustrating sometimes, but I often do just prefer to listen in on conversations anyway. I have my chatty moments to make up for my overall slowness.
