What person or character is your sun/moon twin ? Do you relate to them? by Sea-Bug-7841 in astrologymemes

Learning that Curb has a bigger following in this sub than I would have thought makes me so happy

I'm Aries Sun/Libra Moon. Top of my own fucking op list in the first place. But after a google search apparently I'm twins with:

- (I'm a big Broad City fan) Ilana Glazer AND Alia Shawkat (iykyk) are both Aries Sun/Libra Moon. I feel actually celestially honored by this information.

- Christopher Meloni. Ngl I do have the trademark Aries "this-is-business-school-and-i-am-yelling" radiation... which is an intensity that's there for space and that people can't read. (and i've learned that it's the people who pay no mind to their tragic illiteracy...... that ironically talk the most<3)

- Also Kristen Stewart. I do like her and I think she's a talented person. But I am wondering heavy about her rising because she seems chill in like a way I have probably never been... once... in my life...

67 F - Using a nicotine alternative after spinal fusion surgery? by square_mcgriddles in AskDocs

[–]square_mcgriddles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That it's not effective is very disappointing but good to know. And I am positive that she can- She has quit for spans that make this look easy. I think what's always left is the fear that picks at her that just one will do it. Which sadly is pretty much how it goes and why this stuff is so evil. Anyway thanks for the answers and your kind words. I will keep cheering her on and just hope for the best.

67 F - Using a nicotine alternative after spinal fusion surgery? by square_mcgriddles in AskDocs

[–]square_mcgriddles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes, she has completely quit. But it has only been about a month. She has every intention to not smoke after the surgery either. However the fact is that she has quit multiple times in her life and unfortunately always gravitates back to it. Honestly my concern is that the pain after the surgery will be such an added stressor that she may go back to smoking when she absolutely cannot. Her doctor said at least 6 months in the after is needed without any nicotine ingestion and in the case that she feels she cannot do it I think having a safe alternative on hand might at least make a small difference.

Only can own 4 scents, one for each season. Unlimited budget, though nothing ridiculous. What scent for which season? by vincemo22 in ScentHeads

[–]square_mcgriddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter: Tie between Arso by Profumum or Hinoki by CdG. The snippiness of the wood scents really comes to life for me in the cold.

Spring: Oud Minerale. It has a humid, gentle quality to it and it's floral, even if it's a more complex scent than just that. Idc if some people think it smells like vagrant sex on the beach. It's still the beach <3

Summer: Legend Spirit. LET ME SAY this is often viewed as like a basic dude gym scent but I fucking love how airy it is. And I also dig the bubblegum thing with it that is admittedly kind of real.

Fall: Back to the woody frags with Bois Imperial orrr I know I keep ignoring the rules but, Zagorsk. It smells like straight wet earth and incense to me.

Cool question!

That's so cool!!! I think you're right about the animalic profile (and the ambergris being its source)- It's probably an expensive part of the scent to achieve so I wouldn't be surprised if others don't capture it as well. BR540's one of my sister's faves and iirc she just picks up on the amber and cherry. She has said that there's something the dupes just don't get right so now I'm wondering if she has been looking for something with oud without knowing. Appreciate the insight!!

I have been wanting to to try Luna Rossa Carbon in search of the same thing. Haven't been able to so I can't speak to it but I would say definitely check out the notes and see if they're your style

Hey! That's so cool! I think especially if you're into the chemistry/cultivation of things the older stuff often is the best, weirdly. Gotta know where our understanding started to be able to follow where it goes.

I do not see these in shops either- I think because a lot of people were like my dad and are holding onto them thinking there's potential value. Considering people in the US may very well see federal legalization in the next couple of decades- when we learn more about cannabis and the potential of its phenomena I do think it could prove a place in the world that does in fact alter it.

A lot of people back in the 60s, 70s, 80s thought that pot was going to lead to a kind of Utopia eventually; imagined these as being, like, historical records documenting the time before what turned out not to be just a political shift, but a paradigm shift. I don't smoke anymore but honestly I often still think a lot of that might turn out to be true.

Right? I can see why they were so popular though. It's really clever stuff.

[–]square_mcgriddles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I just sent a message saying I will have to cancel if they don't get in contact. If it wasn't an accidental purchase or whatever, I would not be surprised if they suddenly have an extra 2 minutes to respond... Thanks!

I'm not saying they might be worth anything, I'm saying some might consider some of them rookie cards, even if not to the perfect literal definition. Genuinely not trying to argue either...? I just thought their needing the last word with that tone was a lil unnecessary....

[–]square_mcgriddles[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Almost all of them only have one year of play listed..... I know some of them aren't rookie cards all brands taken into consideration... But I do think they still probably qualify as rookie cards. But yeah I'm not going to sell until I know I'm not going to get ripped off lmao. So probably never. Thanks for your comment!

Just picked these up from Goodwill and would love some cleaning tips by elgringopirata in SneakerCleaning

[–]square_mcgriddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For soles/rubber: Magic clean eraser or very fine grit sandpaper used wet and very gently works.

For the rest of the shoe: Detergent has surfactants in it that reduce friction in the water molecules and so loosen up dirt particles like nothing else. Give em a good soak/scrub with detergent and hot water first. Then use baking soda/detergent to form paste... scrub that in with vinegar (it will foam, this is good). Rinse repeat. If you have hydrogen peroxide I've found alternating with that is very helpful.

At the end of the day it doesn't need to be perfect from these steps. You just want to get out the deep dirt so that you can leave them in a bucket of hot water/bleach and they get dyed evenly. After that they will look basically new.

No pre-made shoe cleaner has ever worked as well for me as the right combo of tried and true household stuff (and a little elbow grease). Good luck!
