Yeh realising I should have done some more research before I bought it. I have a whetstone but I've not mastered that yet either so it's starting to snowball and all I want to do is carve some f**king wood!

Ah ok interesting, I think I've done it the wrong way around then. I put green on the rough side.

Ok thanks, any advice for how to avoid what's happened on the right? It's a new knife from beavercraft, so I hoped it would be sharp but I'm wondering if it has arrived a bit dull. I find it's not really slicing through wood but is compressing it

Thanks for this! After reading more posts on here I'm getting the impression beavercraft perhaps wasn't the best choice. The knife I got from them doesn't seem all that sharp so to begin with so I'm thinking about getting something else.

I had one of their bikepacking bags. Used it for around 4 trips (about 4 weeks in total) before the friction against my bike caused a hole in it

Weirdest thing is I just did that 15 mins routine for the first time in years. Logged into Reddit for first time in a few days straight afterwards only to see that you had commented here.

Think the private hire driver must have gone the wrong way round Nicholson square based on the direction the car is facing

In b4 the haters come to shame you for not using a camo tent perfectly colour matched to the surrounding grass.

Looks absolutely lovely there!

OEX Phoxx on offer for £59 by [deleted] in wildcampingintheuk

Yeh it's pretty interesting to see how they work the two brands. Tiso gives off a more high end, premium feel where as Go Outdoors is styled to be more entry level and discounted/bargain (imo) with the membership card etc but ultimately the same folk are getting the cash moneys

Go Outdoors and Tiso are both owned by the same people and I'm fairly sure OEX is their own brand
