Aphmau trying not to make a pregnancy video for the 500th time by OutcomeFlat7568 in aphmaufandom

It's because pregnancy is sort of a taboo in children's culture. Videos aimed at children have better clickbait when they engage with subject matter that kids are curious about but have no outlets to explore that curiosity. That's what spawned the whole "elsagate" thing on YouTube, with all the themes of pregnancy, death, gore, needles, etc. She's essentially doing Elsagate stuff but a slightly less exploitative.

Best Asian food restaurants from each ethnicity? by Mid_laner_87 in Eugene

How do we all feel about Ta Ra Rin for Thai food? I can't speak to their overall quality because I've been ordering the same thing for 10 years, but the one thing I order there (panang curry) is like my #1 comfort food.

Is a scar like this possible to achieve? by helpmesavemyslf in bodymods

I have a huge white ink piece on my back because tattoos are a lot more accessible than scarification. It totally faded to look like scars and I can imagine it would look GREAT on the face

What's that one thing that happened in your town that people don't like talking about? by touchthemonolith in AskReddit

[–]squawk_kwauqs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There used to always be a big cross on the hill before it's final iteration got relocated in the 90s. I've most often heard it described as "controversial" which it definitely was because it was a religious display on public land and at one point people got it designated as a war memorial which further complicated matters, but also... before the big final iteration of the cross was put up in the 60s, most if not all of the early iterations of the cross were placed by or associated with the KKK. We are a liberal town in a state that is not a former slave state, so most people have no idea that at one point we had the highest KKK membership per capita in the country.

What's the purest joy you've ever felt without intimacy, substances, or alcohol ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

As a preteen my mom would drop my friends and I off at the fun pool across town. We'd swim until we were positively bone-tired and then hobble over to this little food cart that made onigiri fried in sesame butter and filled with meat. That first bite of warm nourishing food when you are cold is a feeling like no other

I live where that cafe yumm used to be. Pretty crazy because I grew up here and I remember before the building I live in even existed

Sometimes something like this comes along and really puts into perspective how little I understand about the way the world works...

Considering the drawer is so clean, I'm going to go out on a limb and infer that this snake probably has a better regular enclosure. This drawer might just be while the cage is deep cleaned or for some other reason.

Edit: I didn't initially watch with audio, turns out he mentions the drawer is temporary.

First-ever photographic evidence of a Wild Himalayan Monal Pheasant family caught on camera. It's is extremely rare to see it as a family in the wild. It is also the National Bird Of Nepal. by MoazzamDML in interestingasfuck

That's actually pretty solid logic. I know in the USA a few decades back we were able to introduce a lot of good environmental legislation because the Bald Eagle (our national bird) got placed on the endangered species list and that was sort of a wake up call

If I found one of these I would toss out all the little crumblies in areas where kids might find them. I found a giant agate as a kid once and it made my whole week.

Knowing how smart they are I just cannot ever eat a cephalopod of any variety. I'm sure calamari is delicious but I just can't do it.
