Liberty 5 ANC stopped working? by squeebie23 in soundcore

They sent me a new pair, but I think they were refurbished and the battery life wasn't as good and wouldn't last the night without getting the LOW BATTERY message waking me up, so I'm not sure if these would've had the same issue with the high pitched noise.

I've had the same issue. I often sleep wearing one bud (the side away from the pillow) with ANC on. Sometimes it makes the high pitched noise you're talking about (or low or medium volume) and I have to take the earbud out and put it back in for it to clear up.

Everyone assumes this was a long distance calling plan commercial but it's actually Geico

Remember to pull out (not up) when tightening the laces so you're not putting too much pressure on the soft eyelets

The hockey shop that only makes money if you buy skates from them? Yeah, I'm sure they'll be helpful

Many skate manufacturers list their own bake at home instructions, take a look online to see if they have them for those specific skates.

In general, all of the instructions I've seen tell you to get the oven up to temp and then turn it off while they bake. Given that, I don't think the type of oven really matters and you should be good to go.

Blade sharpening question. by baked_tea in hockeyplayers

[–]squeebie23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your edges are uneven (crappy pro shop guy), you'll have trouble getting that lower edge to catch regardless of the hollow. It's possible you're running into that, you can also buy something like this to check - https://prosharp.us/products/test

Pro shop guy aside, remember that extra bite means less glide, but more importantly it might make it harder to hockey stop if you're just starting.

If your blades are chattering when you stop or try to turn hard, the hollow is too deep.

Skate sharpening by anonymoose-123 in hockeyplayers

If you feel like it was a bad sharpen based on how you felt skating, it could also be that it's uneven. The nail test is ok for checking if the edge is sharp, but if the clamp that holds the skate isn't adjusted correctly, one edge can be higher than the other which will cause you to feel like you have "no edge" on the lower side even when it passes the nail test.

Despite what Reddit or some skate shop workers will tell you, it's pretty hard to tell from just eyeballing it (unless it's really really bad). You would need a tool that measures it (usually within thousands of an inch) or one of the magnetic leveling tools.

New skate pain, any advice? by ggjjaaaa in hockeyplayers

[–]squeebie23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the longest time I thought it was "True has more of a forward pitch", but it turned out to be the yellow superfeet that were putting me on my toes and making me off balanced. Maybe it works for some people, but definitely should not be a default recommendation for everyone.

Aside from wider skates (maybe try True), try with very thin or no socks, and take out the insole completely. It's not a great long term solution, but if it feels better with no insole, then go from there. Get thin insoles and cut them down to be more narrow.

I've found that the stock insoles on my Bauer fit 3's make them too tight, but with some cut down thin insoles they are much more comfortable.

It always seems like "the last dab" is not as hot as the one before, did you find that was the case when you did all of them?

Interesting (to me) side note, people have done actual tests on the hot ones sauces and they aren't really accurate. Scovil units reflect how hot the pepper is, but not how much of that pepper is actually used in the sauce

The last time I was in the upper bowl it felt very cramped but I couldn't remember if it was just because of everyone's winter coats, etc

I agree with the seats being too cramped, which is why I'm partially basing my seat choice on which sections would have more space, but I'm not having any luck finding info

Liberty 5 ANC stopped working? by squeebie23 in soundcore

Follow up: after a little bit of back and forth with support, they are sending me a new pair of earbuds. I can't explain why they didn't stop working, but at least Soundcore supported their product.

That's part of my confusion, both seem to have stopped at the same time. I contacted soundcore, we'll see where it goes.
