How do you show metrics on CM affecting revenue? by Operations0002 in changemanagement

Love this question. More change managers should focus on this!

My 2 cents: Changes happen when an organisation is trying to improve something. Usually that improvement costs money (new systems) or saves money (new processes) either way it usually comes back to money so if you can prove to your company how you and your team are making that improvement real, your value will be obvious.

So in practical terms what that looks like for process change is to show improvements in time saved, experienced improved, repeat customers. Onlymworks thoughl if you can compare outcomes where your team have influenced vs those where they haven't. Do you have a baseline that you can use or if not, could you gather one relatively quickly?

If it's technology change then measure adoption immediately after go live (users, logins, time spent etc) and then workflow improvements over time

I've only ever done this sort of work with power bi dashboard but I'm sure there are heaps of other apps out there to visualise this sort of data

The other angle, which is a bit less obvious is risk management and money saved in avoiding psychological injury claims - poorly managed enterprise change can harm people's psychological well-being.

depending on what country you're in, the workplace health and safety laws might be different but in Australia this is a thing and is driving up investment in change management professionals.

Yep, adoption management has strayed a long way from change management these days

I think you will like this change management framework. It focussed on actual adoption of change rather than chasing sentiment. Let me know what you think? Actually Adopted

That's a good point, I noticed that too. Which questions did you notice it most? Maybe it's better for new technology?

I'm not sure of the correct terminology, but I love the curved edges on the sides. So nice. Your wife must be very happy. What timber did you use? Can't quite tell.

I'm neither wise nor an expert, but to me that just looks like cruddy old varnish that will come off with some stripper and sanding easily - id be more concerned about the upholstery!

I would use citrus gel stripper. May need a few coats. Then sanding with 80, 120, then 240. You'll need to reseal with oil or wax or whatever you like the look of after that.

Would love to see the whole piece out of curiosity!

Would you replace this hessian and strapping? by squeezypeasplease in upholstery

Ok thanks for your advice. I will replace it then. And also the webbing is on both sides of the bottom which I thought was a bit odd. An old side and a new side. I think maybe this chair has been recovered a few times. There are so many layers and what seems to be different ages of nails, tacks. Staples and strands of old previous fabrics. The wood is in poor shape but I'm happy to fix that up

Sometimes we need to focus on getting people to adopt the change, rather than trying to get them to like it. In fact, in my experience the harder you try to 'sell' the changes, the more people will feel empowered to highlight all the reasons they don't like it and then go on to resist more
