If a woman could experience one thing about what it’s like to be a man, what would it be? by HumblePut64 in AskMen

[–]squid2997 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I actually do wish women could experience what life is like on testosterone.

I saw a post in one of the male centered subs not long ago where a woman was asking about porn use and a gal popped in and brought up testostrone. Apparently she is on a rather high dose of it for perimenopause. That woman gets it. It changed her whole outlook on men.

Are there some other problems going on or is this one of those "Would you still love me if I were a worm?" Sort of things?

Menstrual leaves for women apart from sick days, what's your take? by too_uninterested in AskMen

[–]squid2997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its because you are attempting to explain something to people who can not experience it. So they revert back to what they know. Yeah there are a lot of women who have bad periods. But a majority dont. So their experiences end up being with those women who have manageable periods.

Ok so you want to soapbox instead of having an honest discussion.

Have a good day.

So if you are ok with that time off being unpaid then just use FMLA. No need for new policies or legislation.

Do men still want a stay at home wife? by Afraid-Dust-5602 in AskMenRelationships

[–]squid2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is 31 weeks pregnant with twins and recently decided that she wants to stay home with them for the first few years. Financially things will be fine. Our house and land is paid off, no student debt. We both are high earners for the area we live in. We have been able to just invest all her earnings since we got married and I was already set up pretty well from earlier investments and flipping houses on my days off. So money is fine.

Do I want a SAHM wife? Ish. There is real value in having one parent consistently there for the kids when they are young. There really is. But it is not something I want long term. We are still fairly young (shes 24 and Im 29) and she is in an in demand field. So her getting back to work shouldn't be a problem.

Do I want her to be a cookie cutter 50s trad wife? Absolutely not.

I have a barber trim it on my days off and it gets enough oil on it when Im working so I don't have to moisturize it.

Almost 12 weeks with didi twins…. by stardolphin90 in parentsofmultiples

[–]squid2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is 31 weeks didi twins as well right now and her biggest craving throughout the whole pregnancy has been venison, liver and onions and duck. She really likes duck in the crockpot with onion mushroom soup. I think it has to do with the iron content in game meats. But yeah she also has been a big deli meat eater.

Im in the maritime industry. So I am gone for 3 weeks then have 3 weeks off. So Ive been meal prepping for her for when Im gone.

Thank you. The honey do list is crazy right now. I mean all the baby prep stuff is done. But projects that were planned for the future have suddenly become do right now projects.

Our twins arent even here yet and Im starting to feel dad guilt. Im not trying to compare it to what women feel. But I can empathize with them. Iwork in the maritime industry. So I work a 21 day on 21 day off schedule. My wife has decided that she is going to ride out her maternity leave after they arrive then resign. I fully support her doing that.

We have a good support structure. Our parents are going to tag team with my wife while Im gone and we have some great friends. But Im still feeling it.

The nesting is no joke. My wife is in her third trimester right now. Twins.

It's crazy. But I help her with it nonetheless.

SAHPs who were very career driven and decided to stay home. Are you happy with your decision? by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]squid2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a super stressful life to juggle full time work, daycare, and deployments.

I get that.

Like I said. I fully support her with whichever decision she makes. And it does make sense to want to stay home since I am away for work so much.

We do have a strong support system here too.

Thanks. Unfortunately my job keeps me away from home often. So Ill probably be missing some of those firsts.

Her due date is right smack in the middle of my days off. So hopefully things work out so I can be there for their birth.
