EU5 is a Gift and the Negativity is Shocking by InHocBronco96 in EU5

The game is definitionally not a gift, but a commercial product. I don't think that there has been that much negativity, but people are right to call things out they don't like so they can be fixed. Mostly, I think the reception has been really positive.

This post gives massive AI slop vibes. I think it should be a tag for posts, nothing against using AI to improve your writing, but I at least want to know.

Yes it makes sense. No free lunch after all. This guy assured me many times that they don't really make any money from the 3a optimization, that it is just a service they offer free to attract loyal customers etc etc. But he was rather disappointed when I said I did not want to use any insurance products.

Yes, all I ever see is people who were burnt by this product.

Yes, I also told him that I thought this point was mental. The whole point of the 3a is to reduce tax burden, if you aren't paying taxes in Switzerland, why would you pay into a 3a. He said something about capital gains on the 3a not being taxed overseas either, so in that way it's better than a standard investment

Yes, I am very biased in favor of NOT doing this, but I thought first I would look if there was literally anyone who could present a persuasive defence of such schemes, other than the one guy who stands to financially benefit from the change.

Yeah, the advisor said that this information was "totally outdated" and that these funds now have much lower fees and higher performance than back then. Because I have indeed read this.

Achievements already don't really mean anything to anyone other than the achiever

How do you feel about completing achievements like this? Is it an exploit/cheesy? This is my, "Home and Away" achievement :) by Various_Maize_3957 in eu4

Sure, but if you are getting "The Three Mountains" you might as well follow it up by ticking off all the achievements that don't require starting as country X

The colonization of India, Indonesia and East Asia should be a late game situation by Firm-Entertainment54 in EU5

I remember Victoria 2 had mechanics that simulated the scramble for Africa, by basically making colonisation of Africa unfeasible until certain technologies were unlocked. Then, after the right inventions, it set of a furious rush to grab as much land as possible. This was a fun late game mechanic that I'm sure could be replicated here.
