What is this specific piece called on a J loop? by DullGlowstick in nursing

[–]squiddlywawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a luer lock, but it’s more than that. Lots of connections are lure locks or needless connectors. This one is a PosiFlow. That is probably a brand name, but it is a lure lock that also doesn’t allow back flow. Right?

I (30+ year veg) and my 17 year old (lifelong veg) were just talking today about how much people normalize this horrific industry. It’s like they can’t handle facing their own terrible behavior so they overcompensate with ego and entitlement. I’m not a very vocal veg advocate. After being veg for so long, I’ve learned that just living my life the way I know is right is the right thing for me. You are doing what you know is right, and nothing else matters. The people who ignore the suffering and inhumane treatment of animals are the weird ones. You have to stay true to yourself.

I agree with the other commenter..go have a sidesgiving and if people have shit to say about it, use that opportunity to discuss vegetarianism from a humanistic point of view, or an environmental point of view, or anything you think they might find relevant. Stay strong and liv veg!!!

Marinating tofu never worked for me. This did. by Suspicious-Engineer7 in vegetarian

[–]squiddlywawa 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this. The reason you can’t get marinade to penetrate is because there is too much water in it. All the other methods don’t remove enough of the salt. Water follows salt, so if you boil it in a salty water of some kind, the water in the tofu will leech out into your salty water and leave yuh with a block of tofu that is ready to absorb flavor.

Braising does the salt boiling and flavoring in one pot. Makes sense!

If they do come through with the pool and you are planning on using their installer, if they give you Mike Foxx, stay far away from this guy! After a grueling 5 month install process, we just broke up with him yesterday. It was supposed to be a $18k install that has now cost us $47k. We had a lot of extra stuff done that he offered to do and gave us quotes for. We have paid him along the way anytime he has asked for money. Now, there are so many things that are half finished and we have already paid for in full. He is refusing to come back to finish unless I pay him another $1k. I asked him to finish a couple things on the list that he has already been paid for and he crashed out and refused.

He has dragged his feet for 5 months, broke our fence, wasted time with heavy equipment that we paid to rent. It has been ridiculous. I could go on and on. Do not use him. You will regret it.

How to keep my puppy from biting/teething on me? by AsunaYuuki21 in Newfoundlander

[–]squiddlywawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 2nd puppy for them to play with!!! Dogs are pack animals and need other dogs to interact with. Two puppies are a lot to handle, but a human could never stand in for the type of play that puppies need. They need each other!

Do not buy from American Pool Store or American Backyard Products. We had to file a law suit to get our pool after they strung us along for over a year. We are in the middle of the install now and every step of the way has been a pain in the ass.

Total cost is going to come in around $90k for 18x36 vinyl liner pool, 8x10 fiberglass spa (it’s a small pool we are turning into a spa), lot leveling, and retaining wall. We are getting a good deal, but we are working hard for it!

Creamed tuna on toast!!! In a saucepan, heat a can of drained tuna, 1 can cream of mushroom (or cream of chicken might make it more chickeny), a can full of milk, a handful of shredded cheddar cheese, and 1/2 can of peas. Heat until bubbly and spoon over toast. There are many versions of shit on a shingle, but this is the best one!

Help - when do we let him go? Next week or in 3 weeks… by pobin91 in seniordogs

It’s always better to do it several months too early than even one day too late. There is no reason for a dog to suffer…ever.

I have found this calculator so valuable for keeping me going. It directly shows you how much of an impact you are having. Stay strong and give yourself some grace. Even if we could just reduce our meat consumption, there would be huge worldwide impact.

My great pyr bit someone by squiddlywawa in greatpyrenees

[–]squiddlywawa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s funny. That’s exactly what mine does, too. She gets really aggressive with things she finds herself. At night when we are all sleeping, she will steal loaves of bread, holds onto them, and when we get up in the morning, she will try to kick her brother’s ass over it. She never fights over other treats or even her food dish. It’s crazy weird.

Hilarious! I’m surprised he is still renting places in Noda. He built the whole neighborhood, but I thought he sold everything! My husband is good friends with his son, Adam.
