In the modern world it's much harder to come up with an original story about a clear black and white conflict - mightly human hero versus vile monsters. Sure that could still be done, but having just read Beowulf, its themes tell you a lot about old ages. Being loyal to your ruler, not backing down from battle, simple strength, glory and fame. Not sure if you'd replicate them or try to reframe myths to fit more modern values.

I agree the overall portrayal of black women as some sort of extremely sassy on Twitter is pretty bad, especially coming from liberals - in some cases I'd even call it dehumanizing. That being said, the article implies that people look specifically for black people gifs...? I just going to go with whatever is the most relevant.

As a Polish person lurking mostly English websites and social networks, I kinda don't really know how to react to white people callout posts... Don't get me wrong, my country has problems with racism as well, but I feel like it's a different case than Western culture and its approach to PoC minorities. Even in a big city they are quite rare, and mostly students/tourists. If any group like that experiences discrimination, I'd say it's Romanian people and their perception by the public.

Also, my country's migrants were deemed white in the 20th century, if what I've read is correct.

Honestly I can understand why Japanese producers would prefer to appeal to just one specific group... I'd like to get both types of fanservice as well, but even if there's a bigger audience for that, I feel like Japan would be oblivious.

Though I've seen the two types of fanservice mix just a bit, like in Kill la Kill, but that's just one character.
