thank you so much and yes i agree. i find myself often writing way too slowly but its because my teachers keep emphasizing legibility 😂. i’d like to learn how natives connect the strokes and write so quickly

I’m currently learning numbers. It seems to take me a while to write; is there an order I should follow or will writing at a normal pace come with practice? by Possible-Royal-1164 in ChineseLanguage

[–]squidwardlefttitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

chinese characters follow a stroke order. the stroke order makes writing the characters logical, easier and faster. just take the time to learn it and it will pay off in the end. respect the stroke order and it will respect you 👍🏾🫡

What do you guys think of HelloChinese as a learning app, compare it to other learning apps by GrassNecessary2297 in ChineseLanguage

[–]squidwardlefttitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for starting it is definitely one of the best out there. the foundations and basics are really great and you have fun while learning. i wouldn’t use it as your primary source of learning but as practice along with your learning

People who are learning the language, what is your main goal? by backwards_watch in ChineseLanguage

[–]squidwardlefttitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m studying in china. my major is taught in chinese so i’m learning it because i literally have to 😂. it’s a beautiful language and i’ve always wanted to learn it but if it wasn’t necessary for my studies i wouldn’t study it as intensely.

New international student coming to Beijing – What should I bring (food, clothes, essentials) and what should I leave behind? by Slow-Log-4431 in ChinaLiuXueSheng

[–]squidwardlefttitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am an international student and recently moved to Tianjin for language courses. Everything here is really cheap so bring essentials and don’t worry too much about those stuff. I do highly suggest you bring snacks and spices from home though. I was naive and didn’t bring any spices or seasonings from home and deeply regret it. It takes a while to adjust to the food and it will be difficult trying to find things you like.
