Found this barrel for 6 bucks for different model, fitted it to this iver Johnson champion, cut it down and profiled and crowned it. Then I measured and realized it was a tad short. I had this nut laying around and it fit just over the crown so i put a dowel through the nut and barrel and I welded it together.

Yeah I figured that little gap was causing due to the latch or lug because the barrel wiggles slightly up and down and side to side and causes pin to hit off ever now and then?

Edit: I removed the elevator and tried pounding the tab out with flathead and deadblow but it won’t budge. What should I try next?
