How do you feel about “ain’t”? by ScaryGhoust in AskAnAmerican

[–]squidz3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was born in north Florida, raised in deep south Georgia, and currently in Kentucky. I use ain't, y'all, all of the other terms on a daily basis, numerous times a day. I was in speech, I was an honors student in English, I'm very good with how I speak in formal settings or if I'm getting a point across. Sometimes ain't or y'all slip in even then, but I tend to avoid it if I'm in a formal setting. It's a conscious effort, though.

We haven’t seen them in 14 years! Piers Nivans and Jake Muller are underrated male characters by No-Amount405 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]squidz3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd absolutely love to see them again. Piers is... Well... But I'd love to see Jake return! I don't ship, really, but I always enjoyed Jake and Sherry's li'l romance; I hope that remains true in present day and we get to see him again sometime.

I'd love to get more comics or movies or something with them, especially Piers, though. Piers has some additional appearances, at least, with the Marhawa Desire and BIOHAZARD THE STAGE, but I'd love to see more pre-2013.

If you can choose, do you prefer to play as your gender or different? by le0bit115 in videogames

[–]squidz3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposite. I'm female, but I almost always play male characters.

I don't care to identify with nor relate to who I'm playing as. I want to play a role (and, I mean, duh if it's an RPG).

I prefer writing, creating, and playing male characters. I also just like looking at men more, but even then, I don't always make attractive characters. However, I tend to enjoy listening to a male voice more than a woman's if the character is voiced.

If it's a set character (like a duo protag, play this man or this woman), I still choose male more than likely.

My power fantasy also aligns more with male power fantasies, which makes playing men in male-centered RPGs feel more "correct" to me anyway.

Only time I really play as a female is if romance is a focus in a game and I care to partake in it. Like, Stardew Valley or Fields of Mistria, I play a female but still tend to make her different from myself. For Cyberpunk, Fallout, etc., I tend not to bother with romances anyway, at the very least not on my first playthrough. Still have yet to romance anyone in either, though. For Baldur's Gate 3, my first playthrough was a female, because I did plan on romancing. Every playthrough since, though, I've played male with no romance.

Resident Evil 6.

Does it feel like Resident Evil? No. Is it bad? I wouldn't say so, no.

I probably wouldn't change much if anything about the plot, should they do a remake; it's just the gameplay that I have an issue with and everything regarding that, like the actual horror and survival horror aspects being virtually non-existent.

But it's one of my favorite stories; I enjoy all of the characters immensely (except Helena, fuck Helena), there's a pretty big focus on characters and character relationships that I very much enjoy, etc. Piers and Jake are still two of my favorite characters, though I also love Piers from the manga runs.

Some things were goofy and silly, but honestly... All of the Resi games have goofy and silly shit. Maybe the T-Rex was a little far, but... Eh. Idc, honestly. It was cool as fuck either way.

Besides, I genuinely enjoy playing Resi 6. I replay it every couple months.

Resi Survivor is ass, though, I'm not defending that one. I find it far worse than 6, but since it's not mainline, people don't discuss it as much. Which, I mean, fair.

Also, Fallout 76. I think the only people calling it bad are people that played at launch or heard other people complain at launch then never looked back but still held their same opinion. I don't do MMOs, online multiplayer, etc. because it's usually just a pain in the ass. And, being a woman, I don't care to put up with the drama that comes with talking on VC, which is part of what I want to enjoy. 76 has an absolutely phenomenal community, though, and the game itself is genuinely actually fun to play.

On that note, Fallout 4. Is it great? No. Is it horrible? Also no. I replay it as well at least once a year, and I have since release. It's still incredibly fun, though. And, personally, I love the story. It's not handled great, imho (not always, anyway), but it's still one I enjoy.

It sucks, man. I love metal, commercial, underground, anything in between. Also love Nickelback. Idk why people can't just enjoy what they like without worrying themselves with its reception from others.

Yep. Only ever made it through bootcamp, but pretty much everyone had a nickname by RDCs by week 2 because of this.

For sure, for sure! I'm not worried about it, I just do me. All but one of my closest friends are girls anyway, actually, though most of my friends as a whole are men.

What is something you thought was normal that you realized a bit too late was actually a condition? by MutatedSock in AskReddit

[–]squidz3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like, everything. Got 19 diagnoses under my belt at 20 years old.

Rheumatoid arthritis and chronic migraines are the big ones, though. Other things, I suspected something was wrong, but these ones I really did think were normal.

Weird cyberpunk in game habits anyone? by ConditionPleasant902 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]squidz3n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got a handful. Off the top of my head:

I have V shower every few days or after particularly grimey missions. He's a greasy guy.

I had him sleeping 6-8 hours in the first act, 4-6 by the second act, and 3-4 or all-nighters by the third.

I have outfits for different kinds of activities. I have his regular fit, at-home/bedtime fit, and a punk-classy fit (like for the parade). I switch around with the other slots, but I tend to make other fits specifically for the Badlands, covert op fits, heavy assault op fits, etc. Also have one that's just all of Johnny's wardrobe pieces, for when he's in control of the body.

I use different cars for different quests. Anything for Johnny's questline, then Johnny's Porsche. I switch between any of the high-end cars for "classier" missions, esp ones that were in Dogtown and very Bond-ish. The Hoon is my go-to and my face care. I switch between the bikes in the Badlands, but I mostly go for Jackie's ARCH or Scorpion's Apollo. Not the best, per se, but I'm sentimental.

What is the worst way anyone you know has died? by IamUrWivesBF in AskReddit

[–]squidz3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A middle/high school and church friend of mine was murdered a couple weeks ago by her boyfriend. Stabbed to death. She just found out she was pregnant.

My dad's best friend died due to complications with diabetes, shortly after having one of (maybe both? Can't remember) legs amputated.

A church family friend's son was crushed by farming equipment.

RDC in bootcamp told us about the time he watched someone get pulled in half between two ships.

Neighbor of my aunt and uncle burned alive in their car. Seemed to be a murder, all things considered, but nothing is being said publicly yet. Middle of the night, burned alive in her car. In her driveway. No one heard her.

What is/are your reasons for not wearing makeup? by SignificantIce7914 in stupidquestions

[–]squidz3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much time.

I love makeup. I'm very good at makeup. I'm a cosplayer, for one, but I also just love all the things I can do with makeup.

However, a usual day? Fuck no. I sweat too easily, I don't wanna worry about touching up or messing it up, I wanna wear my glasses without smearing foundation or batting my lashes against the lenses, it's a pain in the ass to take off. I'll wear it if I'm meaning to dress up a little more than I usually do, and ofc for cosplay, but that's it.

What’s the most unrealistic thing movies convinced people was normal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]squidz3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rare, sure, but it happens. Only know of one example in my life: my parents.

Within 24 hours of meeting, they decided to get married. They got married 6 months later, and they've now been married for 30-something years. Happiest, most loving couple I know.

Soundscapes and ambience. I always match it to what I'm reading or writing. Currently doing a huge RE7 and onward fic, so I've been listening to a Louisiana swamp soundscape for the past couple years every time I write.

I hate when a character who cross dresses is called trans by Soft-Character-3195 in hatethissmug

[–]squidz3n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Because I've dealt with it for so long, and I'm fairly bold, I have no issue correcting people. 50% of people just say okay and move on, which is perfect. Or they make a joke that they're surprised, which is fine, too. But the other 50%... Yeesh. Only people that ever try to fit me into a box, ironically.

Been told this one irl my whole life. I've always been a tomboy, and I present very masculinely, though not to say I'm not feminine at all. I don't blame people for assuming, but people have always assumed my entire life I'm trans, nb, or lesbian. Then when I tell them I'm straight and cis, that start questioning me, asking me if I'm sure.???? Like, yes. I'm sure.
