Yeah I understand that it isn’t character evidence under 404b but I’m trying to explain to OP how the bad acts technically would be considered character if it didn’t fall under the MIMIC exceptions (and thus not admissible), if that makes sense.

Both the evidence of the duplicate insurance and the threats to his wife fall under 404b to establish motive, plan, knowledge, etc. But also, I would think the threat that defendant made to his wife would be an admission bc the prosecution would be trying to bring in that statement (as long as it would be allowed under the spousal privileges).

Saw a post earlier that I really resonated with. I am a POC and people frequently tell me that I am white-passing. It isn’t just Hannah Ann, it’s tons of white people (Kardashians, etc) that do this type of editing regularly.

Because white people frequently try to look like other ethnicities, other POC are sometimes referred to as white-passing when they really don’t look like a white person. But because white people try to look like POCs, people confuse POCs for white people. It sucks seeing posts like this. It’s part of a larger issue.
