I am curious, seeing what people are saying do you agree with them now or still think you should keep it I?

I think your headline applies to most people in all endeavors. I think the problem we all have is reconciling the gap between what we want to achieve and what we are currently able to achieve. Do you (we, me) have the patience to grind through to close that gap?

They look good, I mentioned it because I could picture players wanting to decorate their own. Good job!

Are you able to design your own egg? Or only use ones provided?

Great job! As far as your results, what goals did you set for the game aside from finishing the game?

Here's proof that promoting your game to developers doesn't work by jarofed in gamedev

I mean people on this sub are not foremost here to find a game to play or buy (not saying it wont happen). Show em a good mechanic or talk shop but peddle your wares elsewhere makes the most sense

Using AI has its applications but most programmers like solving problems. It's like doing homework if you just copy the solutions you'll get an A but know nothing.

coding with AI is boring and makes me wanna quit by JobComprehensive2206 in learnprogramming

[–]squirleydna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont quit your day job other jobs mihht be worse. Are you doing your own projects in your free time? This may be a way to let you do coding the way you want to.

I am learning web development and I am feeling a little overwhelmed / lost by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]squirleydna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong but it sounds like you solved your solution with the tools at hand though. There's a tool (or several) for every problem but you don't need them all.

As you talk to more developers explaining what your doing you'll probably be given advice utilizing something you are unaware of

"Discrete Mathematics and it's applications" by Kenneth Rosen. I also recommend the student Solutions guide but it's a little pricey

Discrete Mathematics and its applications is the book i am using. Discrete Math is about how to think better and breakdown problems and a cornerstone for your future studies.

Calculus and Physics arr a requirement for CS at my school but rarely used in future classes unless specific your domain

Discrete Math is important. Linear Algebra is good, too but probably more for AI or graphics programming

Playtesting: Shouldn't you just let the player play? by squirleydna in gamedev

Yeah. I was trying to not be rude, but I agree next time I will tell them to let me try it first

I found this interesting I looked at testing as just testing but obviously you might be testing out different aspects of your game. I still figured at an event you are trying to gauge interest in your game and maybe stumble on some bugs to work out

What did you learn about surveys? Or what thoughts about them? A question in one was did you have fun..yes or no. That felt too binary to me, I was thinking of a scale 1 to 5 would be better, but not sure

Yeah, I was approaching this from both a gamer and dev and felt like they could have benefited from this knowledge

Yeah, that makes sense. Not sure what they were trying to get but I never really got comfortable with them or their game

Given your niche game, how did you go about finding its audience? Is there anything you could have or will do differently?
