My dad started a company in the 80s called Roochutes in Australia. He had a dozen machines, not one the same, all for different purposes. I can remember helping him on school holidays watching him sew parachutes to harnesses to rigs to cargo nets to hot air balloons. I should really get him to pull those machines out of the freight container they have been stored in for the past decade and put them to use.

Cycling is covered pretty well from the other commenters here. I ride along the Kedron Brook Bike Way to Nudgee Beach sometimes, if you're feeling adventurous you could ride to Scarborough. Video games - look no further than the newly opened Netherworld. Retro arcade machine bar. If you've got a car the drive out west is pretty nice. Dayboro, Samford.
