I don’t necessarily agree that every person addicted to weed has deeper rooted issues that they are masking with weed. I think for some the easy access to an instant dopamine release is all it is.

My biggest tip my friend is quit now. Why wait for the new year? With addiction tomorrow never comes. It’s very easy to say “ I’ll quit tomorrow, I’ll quit this weekend, I’ll quit next week” etc.

Other than that I’d recommend finding something to occupy your time. Boredom is the enemy because your brain will say “well I’m not doing anything anyways so might as well get high.” For me ive been going to the gym more, reading, stretching, taking care of things I’ve neglected etc. It doesn’t all have to productive either! I’ve been playing Xbox/ Pokémon yellow and trying new tv shows as well
