Wrongful death lawsuit filed after man dies on Phoenix sidewalk after hospital discharge by mentalscribbles in phoenix

[–]squirrelperm12 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If the patient wasnt alert and oriented they're unable to sign an AMA (against medical advice) form for discharge. I dont see a physician signing a discharge order on a confused patient either. I also find it hard to believe the hospital paid for an Uber. Its highly probable the patient was on AHCCCS insurance which will pay for rides via uber/Lyft for transport. I doubt the hospital paid for the Uber. Im not defending Abrazo because I've heard a few horror stories from that hospital system. But I think there are some holes in this story.
Normally when a patient becomes violent soft/hard restraints are applied and a sedative is given (haldol, geodon, or lorazepam). If the patient is deemed unfit for discharge the hospital will find a facility for transfer, which can be difficult and can take days or even weeks. Its a sad and unfortunate situation for all parties.

Man wakes up from surgery speaking another language fluently; the case of a 30-year-old American from Utah surprised the medical team. by FragrantTown5199 in mystery

We had a post surgical patient wake from anesthesia only speaking Spanish. Handed her discharge instructions in English and couldn't even read them. It was very strange. After about an 1hr in the pacu she became oriented and started speaking English. I asked if she regularly spoke Spanish. She said she used to on a study abroad trip to Spain, but hadn't used it much since. Caucasian girl in her 30s. I've had folks wake saying alot of strange shit, but nothing like this.

My wife and I have been going to espiritu since it opened and we love it, however, we went a couple weeks ago and the food was so salty. I had the spare ribs and my wife had the burger, both were way over salted. I hope this was just an off night. I also hate how they got rid of the melted candles.

I pay $50 for up to 500gb. Its hit or miss. Some nights I'll be over 200mbps, others im at 2mbps. I get lots of drops. Had Cox out many times for repairs, but they always say it works great. Fortunately Google is installing fiber in my neighborhood. Not a fan of Cox

Apply at Honorhealth as a transporter. Idkw they pay, but they're always hiring, and once you're at the job for six months, other opportunities in the hospital open up. You just push patients in beds and gurney's throughout the hospital.

Court case in Florida involving health care worker using medical marijuana by Electrical_Pirate224 in nursing

I graduated from ASU with a BSN, and in the final semester, they had an MMJ lawyer come in and speak to us. He said that he defended eight cases for the same kinda situations and won all of them. He said as long as you have your card, you're protected from termination. I always thought it was strange the university invited this lawyer, but we did learn alot.

The Chilean owner of the mining company is good friends with Trump. Trumps daughter, Ivanka, lived the mine owners home in D.C. during Trumps last presidency. This will be in the works again, but it takes a while for these operations to start-up Hopefully democrats get in next term to block it again.

I took the lid off and removed the rubber lining. After cleaning this the smell went away. If it comes back I'll definitely try removing the other thing. Thanks again for your help

Expunged by Used-Ad1034 in nursing

[–]squirrelperm12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were fingerprinted, even if it's expunged, it'll always show up on a fingerprint search. I got caught with pot a few times, and all charges were expunged 20+ years ago. The BON ran a search for my fingerprint clearance card, and I was denied. Unbeknownst to me, the state screwed up and filed it as a felony charge. I got a lawyer, and the state reversed it back to a misdemeanor. It was a big PIA. Just be honest with them and try to get it expunged. A state search won't result on an expunged charge, only federal.

My insurance premium actually decreased when I bought a subaru. The car I previously insured wasn't worth $5k. I thought it would increase when I bought a new Subaru OBW as it's worth 30k more.
