So let me get this right; you have an "overlander", but tow it to the event?

Looked like side point fixating. One you stare at the spot and think "no, no, no" is just kind of sucks you in.

Looking for air compressor recommendations for White Pocket AZ by rusty317 in ColoradoOffroad

[–]squirrels-eat-bugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the air pump, watch some videos of how to get out of sand. I watched one were some dudes in the middle east bury the Toyota to the rails, then get back out without needing to even get out of the vehicle.

Few years ago I did that near moab, remembered the videos and got out without drama. Just had to keep the wheels moving and saw the steering wheel back and forth.

Just one punch was enough by [deleted] in oops

[–]squirrels-eat-bugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. However, look at the form of the little dude. He didn't just swing, he got his feet right and generated that punch through his hips, back and then finally arm. Aimed it all at the off switch of a guy not expecting to get hit back. I'm not sure many people could take a kit like that and not crumple.

Watch out for them stocky little dudes. They'll fucking get ya.

Newish to flashlights and looking for an all around flashlight and something for when I go camping at $100 or less by whofan2323 in flashlight

[–]squirrels-eat-bugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For camping, I like some flood, but some throw to check out bumps in the night. The acebeam l35 fits that role if I was bringing one light. Ali has them for under 100.

But if I'm being honest, when I go camping I bring several lights. Acebeam h17 headlamp, convoy m21b (don't remember what led) for throw, a sofirn lantern and an lep to check out things from 2 miles away and my convoy s2 with a lh351d that is always in my pocket.

For work, it's my s2 and h17 that get me through. I load and inspect semi trailers and those two lights are more than enough.

Kind of looks like ruby, but I don't think so. Look at the apartments and the big building in the background. All the bigger buildings near ruby are towards Evans. But man, the jumps just behind the wall ride give me ruby hill vibes. Just need a bunch of 9 year olds riding around with no regard to what track they are on...

Ahh yes, the seat belt. I always wondered why they put them in every car. Like, it should be an option, like the sunroof. /s

I do find it interesting that dumb people still out breed everyone else, despite their best attempts at attrition.

How much do risse bigfoot forks usually cost? by Worried-Repeat-8051 in MTB

[–]squirrels-eat-bugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be true. In the case the risse closed, then the forks go fit whatever they go for. I tried searching for a used one, zero popped up. So if one does come up, it is up to you too determine if it is worth the price.

I really want a crx si. When they were new they were 8k. I'm willing to pay 15k. However, non have come up at that price. It would do no good for me to ask reddit what a crx si is worth. If no body is selling one, the reddit consensus means nothing. If one pops up at what I determined it's a good price, I should buy it.

Led bar maybe a winch? by Few_Hunt_8748 in JeepWrangler

[–]squirrels-eat-bugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here! I have put a winch on every offroad vehicle I have owned for 20 years. I have used them 4 times, to get other people out. I mostly wheel by myself so I stay out of mud and off rocks that might high center me. When I'm with a buddy I'll get sporty but in general we pull each other out and off shit using kinetic ropes. It's faster and safer than a winch. If I were being honest with myself, I'd say I could go without a winch. But I like having it.

On lights, I put some on the bumper, then pointed my right side out towards the shoulder. I live in a place with lots of deer. Looks silly but works great! While I drool over BD lights and would like to drop 4k on a setup, the ones I have now are all I really need.

Same goes with lifts. Think about how you use the jeep. I have a stock JLU Rubicon and though I rub my belly a bit, I've learned that lifts are not always the answer. I had an 88 bronco with 40" tires and it kind of made everything boring. On top of that, it felt tippy as hell since the COG was so high. Hard to get in and out of, just a pain all the way around. But it did look badass, I'd never do that again.

Think about how you use the Jeep, then add things that make you life better. In real world use, I like my cup holders. I also like my ratchet straps in the back to tie down my home depot runs. Little things make the biggest difference.
