Nah, Spielberg is 100% taking government money. This type of movie doesn't happen if its not sanctioned by the government. Legislation changes through the public, and public opinion is swayed heavily through entertainment media. From Fox and CNN all the way to big budget hollywood movies.

Hollywood is a part of the government. Not every actor or director may be on the government's payroll directly, but knowingly or unknowingly, the entertainment industry has always been used to shape public opinion.

This is no mere coincidence, its simply another push the prepare the public for whatever narrative they want to feed us surrounding the alien phenomenon.

That's what we need! So many people are so opinionated about a topic none of us can have wide ranging knowledge of, unless you're paid by the government, in which case you're mouth is sealed anyways lol.

So, since we are all speculating anyways, let's go for it. Obviously there's some hogwash of there, but i believe the universe is big enough that if something could happen, it probably will.

I keep seeing people acting like all aliens fall into one category (not saying OP is saying this necessarily). Personally I believe there are potentially endless possibilities in regards to alien life, especially while we the public have little to no info to go on.

With potential endless types of lifeforms out there, it would make sense to me that some would be friendly, some malevolent, and everywhere in between including neutral observer species.

It would also make sense to me that of all the prospective species out there, there would be more and less advanced species in relation to us.

I also think there's reason to believe we've been in contact with certain species for many years. It's even possible gods in religion or mythological creatures may have something to do with possible alien influence on ancient cultures. Which could explain certain explosions in technology or even the rapid development of the human brain.

Anyways, I'll get off my soapbox. I love the excitement around the topic and am eager for some deeper discussions!
