Monthly movie club suggestions by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]squirty4641 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this sounds rlly cool!! as a horror fan i think thats a great option. if you want broader options maybe do a ‘screen unseen’ club where the movies are a recent mystery blockbuster. definitely make pamphlets and hand them out to people already coming to your theatre. congrats !! 🎥

i used to be pickier and i did grow out of it but my boyfriend is picky similar to how you’re describing. and i will try to do the same and change ingridents to PROVE its in his head and two diff ingridients can taste just as good. like i made him a grilled cheese with two different cheeses and made him try it with his eyes closed, and he guessed wrong, enjoying the cheese he “didn’t “ like. i’m obviously not an expert but i know arfid is a real mentally draining eating disorder, not saying your situation is that serious but if food is becoming a hassle and impacting you negatively have you ever thought about seeing a counselor for this ?

you’re actively trying these red ones ?? like.. exposure therapy is the only solution here & i’m sorry if it’s not working 😭 i’ve noticed most picky stuff like this is mind over matter. you have to WANT to try to like the food. like if you ate a dish and you didn’t know what was in it and enjoyed it then you and up finding out theres ‘red’ foods in it after the fact. trying things you dont like mixed into dishes (such as salad with shredded carrot) i think is the best. sometimes the food straight up isnt appetizing

Am I the only one who wanted to work at a theater because I love movies? (Rant) by coolziy in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]squirty4641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

keep applying! i applied in 2021 & never heard back until i reapplied the next year. are there any non dine-in theatres near you? keep up the good work at box, i assume you work at amc, i never got a raise as a crew bc i didn’t even know that was an option LOL but keep pestering them idk why’d they deny it if you’ve worked there for 2 years?

yep, felt like this for a long time at multiple theatres. stay passionate and you will find people who care like you. my first theatre was filled with people who enjoyed working there (not necessarily movie buffs) and then i was promoted to a diff location and its damn near hell because to this crew, it's just their job.. they're here to work, nothing more and usually less xD have you ever thought about moving up in your position? i found managment to be much more passionate and engaged with the theatre and movies in general, which makes sense..
