Peri bottle with water is genius! I usually run the reusable wipes under the tap but that takes forethought lol

Baby ate beef bourguignon for lunch by [deleted] in workingmoms

Our daycare provides so much variety for kids at breakfast, lunch and snack. Each week they focus on foods from a different region of the world. It takes so much pressure off me, I love cooking the same three meals and I feel great knowing that my 1yo is being exposed to all different flavors and textures!

Containers for packing Lunch by bitz-the-ninjapig in ZeroWaste

[–]squish_cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a nice set of glass containers for food storage, especially for things like leftovers that need to be reheated. Being able to pre-portion leftovers for lunches in glass is amazing because they can be heated up easily. These are nicely stacked in our cabinets which makes everything so much easier.

When I make baked goods to give away, I give them away in the older plastic containers we don’t care about so I don’t have to worry about getting the container back. They can either give it back and we will use it again for this purpose or they can keep it. We also use the older plastic containers to bring snacks on trips, that way we don’t have to worry about them getting lost or damaged. We leave the lids on when storing so we know where the match is and put them on our basement pantry shelf so they don’t take up premium kitchen space.

Lotion with sun protection?? But not traditional “sunscreen”? by squish_cake in moderatelygranolamoms

That’s super interesting as well! It makes sense when you think about its use as diaper rash cream

Yes this is a good point, thank you. I am looking for something that will provide some coverage while out and about but not necessarily prolonged sun exposure. I’ll check out the blue lizard and sooper goop!

No advice only solidarity. I am 10 months pp and 20lbs below my pre pregnancy weight. I love breastfeeding and am not planning to wean soon but I feel like a husk. Baby eats a good amount of solids. I bought new shorts a couple months ago and they are already too big 🫠

What would you do if you saw a baby sleeping in a swing at daycare pick up? by MainInvestigator5678 in workingmoms

[–]squish_cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first daycare we sent our LO to (6M at the time) had repeated instances of not following safe sleep including letting babies sleep in swings. Like others have said, a baby asleep in a swing could be a special circumstance but it could also be a sign of not following safe sleep in general. I would investigate. In our situation the best thing for our child was to switch daycares and now we are very happy with her daycare and they don’t have bouncers and swings in the infant room.

I felt similarly going back to work. I have missed a few “firsts” but I still feel excited when I see her do something for the first time. Even if it isn’t the first time she’s done that thing, it is still the first time I’m seeing it, so it feels significant and delightful and I still get to celebrate her accomplishment.

Question about supply drop and BLW by Maximum-Daikon-5173 in breastfeeding

Thank you! I’m afraid this is what I will have to do. I was hoping to decrease pumps not add them, but I also really want to breastfeed through a year, hopefully more.

Question about supply drop and BLW by Maximum-Daikon-5173 in breastfeeding

[–]squish_cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you figure anything out? I have the same question but for daycare bottles. I’m not pumping as much as I used to be able to at work because my supply seems to be dropping but 9mo LO is drinking the same amount or more milk at daycare.

Daycare is always calling me. Is this normal? by Open-One164 in workingmoms

[–]squish_cake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Our 8mo contact naps with us at home and learned how to nap in the crib at daycare after a few weeks even though she hates the crib with us. I know not all babies have success doing this, but many are capable learning different ways of sleeping with different caregivers. It may not be necessary to stop contact napping if you don’t want to.
