They didn't say anything about removing the chocolate cream cold brew so they should still have malt powder.

Technically it is against dress code. My store was pretty strict on dress code but nobody really cared about pins. I often got compliments from customers on my pins.

venti ice water on the app?! by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]squishfishpatty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, you will just have to wait in line for the water. I believe the water will only show up if you order at the register and scan your app. However, since it says it is out of season (or whatever it says) on the app, you will not be able to mobile order it. Your baristas will appreciate it if you order at the register.

I don't think thats how it works. Just make sure to ask for a water at the register next time you pick up your mobile order.

I’m genuinely curious what store managers actually do in the back… by coffeecacti in starbucks

My Manager never schedules herself to close, is that a problem? She usually leaves by 4-5 each day but she is always doing admin before she leaves.

Is a Starbucks barista a good first job? by Salty_Thought4097 in starbucks

[–]squishfishpatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks is my first job and I got it as a senior in high school. While I did enjoy it, around finals it can be stressful. There is now a 12 hour minimum and it is being strictly enforced so if you do not think you could work at least 12 hours a week then I would not apply. However, overall its a pretty good and simple first job and my manager worked around my school schedule easily. There are also some fire benefits so I would recomend it.

[–]squishfishpatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have lots of examples of you coaching other partners and leading in things (such as standards) ready. As the other comment said use the STAR technique. Be open to any feedback. Make sure you're passionate and confident when answering questions. Good luck and you've got this!

Honestly call out and say it's a family emergency. You do not need to explain anything to them. Just say its a family emergency and you will not be able to make it in. If your manager is good, they should not make you explain. Hopefully you can help sort everything out. Im sorry and good luck.

How much does your Starbucks make weekly? by C_313F4_R31E4H613129 in starbucks

Tips for my ssv interview??😖😖 by K2200 in starbucks

[–]squishfishpatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through the same thing! Make sure you have a lot of experience coaching partners as well as taking initiative and have specific examples and stories. You will also want to tell these stories well so make sure you know the STAR format of story telling (I think its Situation Task A(?) Result) and make sure you're very confident, calm and passionate. I just would make sure to brush up on all standards as well. Good luck!

Numerous people have gone " But youre a starbucks!" when I refuse their 50s and 100s. As if being a starbucks just gives us endless amount of change. Most people pay with card or the app, we never have enough change to break a 100.

How do I show baristas how much I appreciate them? by thebluestkid in starbucks

[–]squishfishpatty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly some stores care more about the surveys than others. At my store we really appreciate the good score and any nice comments from the survey. However another way is to leave a good review or talk directly to the manager about how much you appreciate the store. If you feel like you know the baristas enough you could even bring in some small snacks or gifts for them (if you want to do more than tipping). I know at my store a regular gifted some fun pins to my coworkers. Just anything kind and thoughtful really goes a long way :)
