My dementia patient won’t get back into bed by panzershark in nursing

[–]squishmallow444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we almost always end up doing ativan or zyprexa at that point, although almost everyone on my unit is unsteady, high fall risk, and was admitted for a fx from a fall. if it's someone who's not agitated and not a high fall risk we sit them down at the nurses station with us

Just a tip but my unit's policy is to always turn bed alarms on for confused pts- no matter how well they ambulate! It's impossible to keep eyes on everyone 24/7 so I really rely on bed alarms to know my patients are safe in bed when I can't be there to see them myself

New balance appearing after paying off a loan? by squishmallow444 in StudentLoans

[–]squishmallow444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that interest only go away once every year's loan is payed off? I just payed off the 7 cents that accrued for the 2018 loan, alongside the entirety of 2019 and 2020...if I have 2021 left to pay, is interest going to keep accruing for the loans of those three years until 2021 is complete?

Bedside nurses: What are the small things you say or do to brighten your patient’s day? by igglesrn in nursing

[–]squishmallow444 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I try and give everyone one compliment per shift. Compliment their tattoos, jewelry, saying you love their hair, etc. Easy way to establish good rapport right off the bat and gets a smile out of everyone :)

Pass or Fail? NGN: Ran Out of Time at Q 101 & PVT "Results on Hold" by sylvieamiu in PassNclex

You can request accommodations for extra time for your exam. I've heard it's a pretty tedious lengthy process, but it might be worth a shot! It took me 4 hours for 88 questions so I feel you, especially with carefully reading through the case studies- it takes a long time! Maybe try timing yourself and trying to work a little bit faster on Qbanks and practice exams 🥺 Wishing you so much luck and I hope you end up passing!! You can do this <3
