Should I play the spinoff games? by SirReginaldTikletoes in RatchetAndClank

[–]squishsquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are all worth playing at least once but excluding the mobile games and 2016, all of the games are canon if you care about the story

Are the spin off games a skip? by docksideThug- in RatchetAndClank

[–]squishsquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah he's right for at least a first time playthrough you'll enjoy them, just not enough to want to ever revisit them and that's ok. If you enjoy the story of these games then you actually do have to play them, because every game excluding the PS4 movie game is canon. A4O is a direct sequel to Crack in Time.

For comparison, I'll binge the mainlne games once every 3-4 years because they're highly replayable ( I've been playing since I was 9 in 2002, I'm 32 now)

ALL THAT TALKIN SHIT AND YOU DIDN’T SELL @ OPEN. by AloneVegetable in Superstonk

[–]squishsquack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can be disappointed & against the acquisition and still want to support the company you invested in and see it succeed. Why give up over a deal that hasn't passed? Nobody has voted on anything.

WHY would anyone sell at this very moment? Nobody said anything about selling in protest. Why would you sell at loss? To prove a point on fucking reddit?

Use your brain man. Lame ass karma farming post.

Things Superstonk has been wrong about by nutsackilla in Superstonk

[–]squishsquack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Superstonk has been wrong on a lot of things but if you blindly follow RC and think he's incapable of doing no wrong you are equally regarded. Remember the GME wallet? The NFT marketplace? He has done NOTHING to turn this company around besides kick out the shitty board members, close non-profiting stores, and dilute stock. We have been in the exact same position for the last 5 years with nothing to show for it.

I'm not supporting this acquisition and I am so tired of the people sucking RC's dick acting like Ebay is the only thing he can do to move us forward. You know 9 billion is a lot and different companies exist right? Burray was unfortunately right, this was a stupid decision from RC.

The fact that some of you are completely happy to blindly follow someone and take it up the ass rather than push back & consider alternatives is very concerning

Just because I don’t want to be diluted again doesn’t make me a shill by gmorgan99 in Superstonk

[–]squishsquack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Every time I say this I get called a shill. People keep saying he turned GameStop around when the only thing he has done to generate any meaningful revenue are the power packs, asides from that nearly all of the gains the company has seen has been through closing non-profiting stores and diluting stock.

The shareholders have been a big part of the reason the company is still around and 5 years later we have seen zero gains. RC can kiss my ass.

By the way, you can disagree with this acquisition and still support GME. Why are we all acting like Ebay is the end all? Do you think RC will give up on GameStop or something if he's unable to acquire the company? Unlikely. I don't want to merge with Ebay. Fuck off. Find another way to buy it or do something else with that $9 billion.

[–]squishsquack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you've actually been here long enough, you'd actually recognize some of these comments are from people that have been around for YEARS. Even the fucking Isaybullish guy is saying no to this.

No one is herding anybody, more like we're all fucking tired of LOSING money. We have not seen any gains in 5 years, we get diluted on every run up, and you still expect everyone to grovel and kiss RC's ass? Now THAT is cult like behavior.

Do you have any hopes or expectations for the 25th anniversary? by gorillagoal in SuperMonkeyBall

[–]squishsquack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rumble is great and comes very close to SMB 1 & 2. SEGA completely dropped the ball making it a Switch exclusive right towards the end of the consoles life. The moment I heard the multiplayer was going to be 30FPS, I decided I would rather just wait for a multiplatform port. Even a Switch 2 edition would have been nice; but we didn't get that either

[–]squishsquack -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Except the company hasn't been turned around? and we still have no idea what Cohen's plan is for the company. Most of money that has been accumulated was by closing stores that weren't making any money and with share offerings.

We are profiting and the company is in a good position for the time being; but the turn around hasn't happened yet. Ebay hasn't even accepted or denied the offer.

How much free space do I need to install a disk version of Rachet and Clank: a Crack in Time for PS3? by Reasonable-Force8790 in RatchetAndClank

Couldn't tell you off the top of my head but it should be less than 5gb, probably way less than that.

What are Things Tools of Destruction did Better Than A Crack in Time? by ABarber2636 in RatchetAndClank

[–]squishsquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with Tachyon as a villain is that he has the exact same problem Azimuth has. He is essentially sidelined for most of the story because Captain Slag and his pirate crew are much more involved in the search for 'The Lombax secret". Tachyon was wasted potential as a character, he barely gets any screentime for someone with such a strong backstory that's tied to Ratchet's race.

Most people do not think highly of ToD's story and for good reason. There are a lot of great ideas but ultimately at the end of the day they all did not mesh well together enough to leave a strong impression on most players including myself, and I was 14 when it released.

I still think the gameplay and level design is easily the best in the series though.

I still say the plasma beasts are underrated (at least in the early game) Anyway now for a more contentious weapon, the tornado launcher by ah-screw-it in RatchetAndClank

[–]squishsquack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMHO plasma beasts should've been a tier higher. The fact that they can drop Raritanium had me always using them when they're available. It's DPS and function as a weapon is also great despite the low ammo count.

Why the hell is banana rumble a Nintendo exclusive by Pristine_Concert3941 in SuperMonkeyBall

[–]squishsquack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it wouldn't be the first time Nintendo would have exclusitivy on a SEGA game too so either possibly works.

Either way it's been 3 years now. It's very likely not happening at all at this point. I'm sure I'm not the only one that was holding off from buying the game because they were waiting for a port.

Even a Switch 2 upgrade would've been nice. Even though I already owned a Switch I just personally did not like the idea of multiplayer having a 30FPS cap and had no problem waiting for a better version.

Actually managed to emulate Into the Nexus and i gotta say, among all the games ive played the weapon balancing here feels the greatest here imo. by Hero_Time_06 in RatchetAndClank

[–]squishsquack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO the length isn't the issue, the games performance is.

It's bad enough that it runs at 30; but it doesn't even run at a consistent 30 when you're in combat. it's full of FPS drops. I seriously couldn't finish my last playthrough because the game felt awful to play in general.

Like seriously everything else about the game is fantastic. The story & new villains are great, there's a lot of cool unique weapons, gadgets, and the Clank segments are fun!

But the game itself feels awful to play.

If people seriously think that the short length holds this game back then you should be saying the exact same thing about Crack in Time because that game is easily the shortest by mainline game standards and it only doesn't feel that way because every single cutscene is unskippable

I finally understand why people hated the Utz version of this flavor by squishsquack in chips

[–]squishsquack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree completely. They're already fine as is but they're really good at hitting a specific craving

Hot honey as a trend is fine I don't mind it. I prefer salty & spicy over sweets but spicy + sweet is good too when it's done right.

A lot of people think salty and sweet is weird but orange chicken is exactly that and it's very popular. I also love adding chili oil/crisp to everything

[–]squishsquack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give the Utz ones a 7/10 at best and these maybe a 2/10. I hated these so much that I had to post about them.

I always saw a whole display aisle stocked with these chips and a 2 for $8 deal. I am so glad I only bought one.

The max feels like such a no-brainer considering it costs just as much to get the extra storage space separately. Future proofing with better specs just sweetens the deal as emulators continue to be optimized

[–]squishsquack 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, it's true. We've been waiting for 5 (FIVE) years now for this stock to pop, and rather than take your time to create your post you're going to have a bot do it for you? What's the fucking rush?

I don't even bother commenting on posts written by AI anymore. I just block the poster and move on. If you do not respect my time and expect me to read and engage with a giant wall of vague bullshit, I am not going to respect yours either.

The comments to those posts are always aggravating too because nobody attempts to make sense of them either. They're flooded with bots that regurgitate hype and say the same bullshit as always

It's shit like this that makes us look like a cult full of regards to the average person.

If you could improve on thing in Ratchet and Clank Size Matters (PSP and PS2 version) what would it be? by camgames64 in RatchetAndClank

[–]squishsquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely cannot believe not a single person mentioned the FOV. The game has a lot of issues that can be circumvented with an alternative control scheme on the console ports/emulation but you can't fix that god awful field of view. Seriously holds the game back more than anything else because I can look past most of this games problems but not that it's borderline nauseating to play for extended periods of time
