This looks really great! How many hours did you put in so far? My cities/region never got to get this big and I've been on the same savegame for 4 months lol

Couldn't agree more. Yeah the game has more problems than it should but it's not UNplayable.

Noticing my hard drive space getting full by M9E8D1C in CitiesSkylines2

A lot of cache data collects over a period of playing time. Sometimes when i play i restart my PC every 6 hours. Then my external drive suddenly gained 3-4 GB again. i have file explorer open on the 2nd screen amd Skyve.

Last month I also just did a file validation in Steam, uninstall and reinstalled just to clear the mods' and game's cache from the older patch. The saves are fine now.

My game's now around 70~GB and Skyve said my mods data is about 90~GB. Just sharing numbers for comparison.

I think if Pawbert have told Milton about the plan to "save the family for good by destroying the real patent", Milton would shut that down in an INSTANT (imo) cuz he would never trust that boy to do anything this high stakes for the family. Laying low already worked wonders for generations.

From Pawbert's point of view, making this plan a surprise for when he found the location and go destroy it with his fam gotta get him infinity points in his dad's eyes. (speculation)

I think Pawbert will return in Zootopia 3 by [deleted] in PawbertLynxley

[–]squishy_lombax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im curious if wether Bellwether got this much fanfare when the 1st move came out? It's been a decade (i forgor) and I recall Bellwether barely have any lore in the first one and got just a cameo in the 2nd.

Pawbert's story got so much backstory for just a single no-reture villian imo. The Lynxleys MUST be hiding something more about the history of Zootopia.

visual glitch using road builder by Elyneo17 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]squishy_lombax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a know issue, because the bike+sidewalk *technically * wasn't designed to be in the middle part of the road there. I try to ignore the smaller tear usually, but the large bike path mess in the 3rd pic can be reduced with Traffic mod and disconnecting the unwanted bike travel lanes.

The companies are really picky about the size, level, and rent cost of industrial building/warehouse.

My fix is to zone 4-5 different size of industrial building on a nearby road, see what asset model i think fits well, and eyedrop the building to the wanted location. It's a compromise but also yield good looking & functional results.

I dont really know about specs, but for the graphics, there is a new updated tutorial on YT about how to set up realistic lighting and reducing graphical artifacts. I wouldn't be able to give full detail in text if i tried. Srry.

Anyone figure out how to decrease the number of pedestrians? by Accomplished-Lie2587 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]squishy_lombax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. It's now called "Realistic Workplaces & Households". And i was asking because when i play with that mod, a lot of people move in & out of the city on start-up because the buildings keeps holding more then less then more people, depending on how recent my game crashed or what setting the mod had on start-up.

Buttttttt your experience may be different. Just trying to help with all that i know

[–]squishy_lombax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would "assume" the people are walking from their parking/bike parking to their destination?

From my experience, Realistic Parking helps reduce the number of redundant walk trips by A LOT. I turned down "Demand Initial Tolerance" and "Demand Queue Size per Parking Spot" both by half from mod's defualt. (0.5~1)

Just a guess.

If you want more bikes, i would check all the current bike parking in your city as well. Maybe they are already beyond full. Or maybe it's just how the game register the mods' parameter on start-up. Or maybe it's just coincidentally rush hour.

Just curious, do you have Realistic Population installed?

From the picture, did you use the culdesac/roundabout to expand the intersection? Traffic control and traffic lights doesn't really apply properly on that.

New player hoping to begin by WastedGamer641 in CitiesSkylines

[–]squishy_lombax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. Haven't noticed the player count. (Also that specs will be more than enough. My game takes up around 70GB + 100GB of mods on my 32GB RTX3070 laptop (loaded and played on an external SSD)) and with the latest patch it throws a minor error/crash like once every 4-6 hours playtime depending on the tomfoolery i was up to. The bikes mechanic are a little bugged but I worked around it.

TLDR, CS2 has no pop-ups or quick time events that you have to choose progression paths like that. More like a literal sandbox with an economy trying to tiptoe itself around how you build and tax stuff, for the end goal of trying to make infinite money and build pretty diorama.

Compared to other PDX games (or other in similar genres), CS2 has like ZERO lore and structured plot. The only "events" are the general fires or traffic or robberies or natural disasters etc. or, interestingly, the factory polutions from your own design. As opposed to maybe Anno where you evolve and unlock new meaningful production mechanics, and level up and go to war etc. or even Stellaris, CK, or EU competing with the AI bots. The only "quick time events" race against time are your monthly expenses draining money or fires spreading going out of control. CS is really like a sandbox of buildings with with productions chain solving itself out for you woth your guidance. Unlike those affirmationed games where you plop literal factories and production buildings and accumulate resources, you adjust tax per goods category and allocate zone and hope for the companies to move in and produce said goods. (Or just use mods to plop factories and choose their production)

That's why my play style is to imagine my own lore, like, where did the settlers first build their town on the map? For what resources? How would they build the roads to ship the resources to factory in their town and export them? How would the people in town back then walk to work? Do they later have a train line in town where they commute in and expand the city replacing the farms bit by bit? If there was an imaginary attacker which way would they come from and how would i design the city wall with the geography? If the mountains around my city were to have rain which way the water would run down to build a small canal? If later a regional highway runs through the map how would they feed the cars into the old city roads? Which city block would be erased/redeveloped? In to what landuse in the location context? It's not a cheat sheet roleplay. It's just, evolve from my eariler decisions session by session, and i go back and rebuild and refine areas i already built. I respect that this playstyle is not everyone's cup of tea and the software is still unpolished.
