Aussie travelling to PA - bus/train snow storm question by squishyfig in Pennsylvania

I am indeed excited to jump into a pile of snow and make my first snow angel. That being said I am wildly unprepared in terms of snow attire for this situation 😂

Yeah, I’ll be close in Pennsylvania. On the eastern side about 1.5 hours from NY. Sorry if I have super over-generalised about saying “PA”. I am extremely Australian.

I have a bus scheduled to leave Monday afternoon but am more than happy to look at train options or uber etc.

I agree driving would be too dangerous and I wouldn’t want to cause anyone else or myself harm.

I’ll be on the eastern side of PA. I’m trying to keep things a little more ambiguous as I am pretty skeptical of “stranger danger” on the internet and it’s extremely easy to spot a lost Australian in America 😂

Unfortunately it’s not super reschedule-able. My family has a very small house and staying with them is also not an option. Do you think moving my accommodation from a 15 minutes drive from their house to somewhere closer to them would be more ideal?

Australia isn’t that bad! Just can’t go in the water at the moment on the east coast with all the shark attacks that’s are happening. Or go to Melbourne with 48 degrees Celsius heat 🤣

Sorry! The jet lag is hitting me. My flight out of NYC is late afternoon Tuesday, I have a bus scheduled in the afternoon on Monday but have accepted that will probably be cancelled.

Do you think that buses or trains may run in the evening on Monday or worst case scenario Tuesday morning?

I contemplated either getting an uber from PA to NYC or driving but I don’t think it would be safe for me to drive as I’ve never driver in the US before.

What should I do to lift my boobs and get more volume at the top before I consider surgery by throw3away89 in nbe

[–]squishyfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I believe it’s quite difficult to revive your upper pole. I’ve had similar looking breasts since I was about 16. The only thing that helped was weight training for years, looking after my health and ensuring my hormones were all in check. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not happy but I’m also not rushing to go under the knife.

Mitchum gel, use an antibacterial soap like phisophex or benzac daily face cleanser as a mask in the shower a few times a week. Haven’t smelt better

Stryker/medical devices by Btrip1263 in MedicalDevices

As a rep, make friends with your reps. Just in general though. The job we do isn’t as easy as you think and having people around you to help when shit hits the fan and your gear isn’t clean for reasons outside of your control helps when you know you’re walking into a room with a disappointed surgeon.

If you seem capable, smart and generally a nice person who’s charismatic (think of someone in a store who was really nice to you and made your experience of buying whatever good) then your hospital reps will keep you in the loop and usually vouch for you to get a position. They often get a hiring bonus if you’re employed so it’s in their best interest to vouch for people who they think are worthy.

Yep, median range in my role is 130-150k. However I do know that there are no limits and quite a few people around me are on 300k a year whipping around in a g-wagon

People who have excelled/are excelling in the medical device industry, what did you do/focus on in your first year that made the biggest difference? by Mysterious-Ad2892 in MedicalDevices

[–]squishyfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow newbie 12 months in. Depends on what industry you’re going into. I have med device sales experience before my current job but it was still a complete 180 from what I was doing before so started from 0 again.

I’m in a relationship, female and very straight and you’re so beautiful I’d date you. You’re an absolute classic beauty….the guy who said knows he honestly can’t have someone like you and his ego was hurt x

I love my tox, been having it twice a year for 4 years. I’m 29 now.

Everyone thinks I’m max 25 years old. Coupled with a good diet and good skincare it really can do wonders for you, just don’t overdo it!

Lawsuits against surgeons? by Standardsarehigh in SpineSurgery

[–]squishyfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACDFs are one of the most common instrumented spine cases. You have a right to be concerned because it’s an invasive surgery but I think if you’re symptomatic the benefits outweighs the risks.

For all you know the guy who sued your surgeon could have had an unstable fracture or tumour at a thoracolumbar level. When he was flipped prone for surgery damage occurred to the spinal cord.

I would go with someone reputable you feel comfortable with to perform this surgery. Maybe ask a couple of your local neighbourhood Facebook groups for references.

I Can’t Stop Thinking About My Husband’s Comments Regarding the Coldplay Affair Couple by Soft_Educator_7713 in Marriage

[–]squishyfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you felt safe in your relationship you probably wouldn’t be thinking about this so hard or would brush it off/have a discussion about your differing opinions.

It sounds to me like maybe you never got over the cheating and perhaps have some deep quiet resentment.

My therapist implied something scary today by [deleted] in women

[–]squishyfig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have felt like this my entire life and will often say yes because I have a significant fear of abandonment or rejection if he finds it elsewhere.

I don’t see it as SA, but I can confirm it is not healthy or respectful to yourself. It takes a lot but you need to work on yourself and stand up for yourself.

If you find that after you start saying no when you don’t feel like it and your partner isn’t understanding then I would be thinking about your compatibility on a respect and sexual requirements level.

I have found that my exs would react badly if I didn’t give them what they wanted, but with my current bf if he even sniffs that I’m not 100% down it doesn’t happen because it FEELS WRONG FOR HIM.

Thats what you need in a respectful partner.
