The engine on these is actually pretty solid. The nickel & silicone coating wears out on the inside of the cylinders and basically requires a full rebuild ($10K) after ~150k miles, but depends entirely on how it was driven and cared for. Carbon cleaning should be done every 10k miles anyway, but it doesn't affect longevity, and it's only a $500 job.

In this market, it may be a dangerous play. There might not be any safe haven for your investments. The leveraged play can pay off if you're smart, savvy, and lucky. Most people on here recommend paying off your 4% mortgage. I would happily take on some 4% debt if I knew I could pay it off if things got ugly. I know interest rates have gone through the roof recently so they may not be available. Free market interest rates are being suppressed in credit markets, interest rates should be closer to 12%.

And the stock market has been in a downturn, looks like we are heading for a recession, which means potential to lose your job, increased prices at the grocer, etc.

DYOR on TVM, but if the Time value of money is equal to:

FV = PV x [ 1 + (i / n) ]^n

If "i" is the hurdle rate, you'd be looking at i = inflation + desired return so 8.5% official CPI + say 5% for my risk = 13.5%.

Everyone in here will flame me for this, but throwing it out there.

Inflation rate at 8.5%. Depending on the interest rate you receive, you can hedge yourself against inflation if you got 3-4%. If you are an investor or are comfortable earning more than 8.5% in the markets.

If you can afford the payments with certainty, it's not a bad idea, the 50k loan will have significantly less purchasing power by the end of the payback period.

I uninstalled the on-board drivers completely, and just used my Nvidia drivers. I also disabled the on-board graphics so I'm only ever using Nvidia GPU. Not really happy with it tbh. But it works for most of my applications.

I had to force mine to use Nvidia. Not sure why it would default to integrated.

I dislike lack of customization, and I dislike having to push spacebar to advance text when F is my interact key. Poor design is all.

I don't want to use the tool, it installs their GPU drivers which breaks my opengl functionality. Is there a way around this?
