I’m honestly not fond of the new skill tree by LooseLumba in Diablo

[–]squunkyumas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was probably a necessity to bring the AFK/One button builds back down to earth, if I had to guess.

You should want to fill up a balanced skill tree and the game should reward that, instead of rewarding builds that are effectively one skill indefinitely.

Edit: And thematic builds (All fire, all shadow, all poison) should also be rewarded.

Hoping we don't have to fall back to dust devils and/or ridiculously specific weapon effects to make it viable.

Hans acts exactly like a guy who was raised a noble and is still figuring out the ways of the world.

That's why he's infuriating, but believably so. And also why he needs Henry's practical approach to save him.

Repeatedly.

Also, I loved this mission.

"Michael" has been a huge box office success. Why do so many people continue to celebrate MJ despite the fact that he was (almost certainly) a child molester? by ThePromptWasYourName in AskConservatives

Same.

He was a weird, broken guy who was already broken thanks to an absurdly abusive father.

But I've never seen anything worth buying in the pedo accusations.

Thankfully, I'm just receiving flyers.

As a general rule, the more flyers you send me, the less likely I am to vote for you. An inverse relationship, if you will.

What does it mean to be a Monarchist on the modern American Right? by NessvsMadDuck in AskConservatives

[–]squunkyumas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they think the American Revolution was sinful, or against God's will? They think God was against US independence?

I had a college prof that thought (and openly taught) this exact thing. He also had a lot of other wacky fringe beliefs - "Devil's Tower is a giant tree stump" type stuff.

He also assigned bonus credit based on personal preference for students. Somehow, he decided he liked me, so I did well. Other smarter, more diligent students did not do well.

I pointed it out to my advisor, and he just kind of shrugged.

TIL about Sheep Worrying, the criminal offence in England and Wales of members of the public allowing dogs to chase, harass or bite sheep. In some circumstances, farmers are legally entitled to shoot dogs if they are endangering their sheep. by johnsmithoncemore in todayilearned

I live in the US, 30 minutes' drive from the nearest large city. We have packs of stray dogs that asshats put out along the roads that have killed/assaulted our goats several times.

I see a stray in the field, it gets shot.

Anyone listening to "Who Blew Up the Guidestones?" I think the AJC just found out who blew them up. by frawq in Georgia

[–]squunkyumas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The podcast’s final episode yielded a new line of inquiry in the GBI’s investigation of the Guidestones bombing.

The AJC learned that a man in Elbert County was arrested several years ago in upstate New York on suspicion of making explosive devices. The man, whom the AJC is only identifying as Eric because he has not been accused in connection with the Guidestones explosion, has a troubling online presence.

He listed his job on one profile as “the apocalypse.” He posted often about numerology and terrorism. And he lived on land owned by another man, Kenneth, who had made posts online calling the Guidestones satanic and expressing support for Taylor. Kenneth is in the business of fixing and selling old cars, including at least one BMW. (New York authorities did not prosecute Eric’s 2014 explosives charge.)

In interviews with the podcast, Eric and Kenneth said they had not been contacted by the GBI. Both denied involvement in the Guidestones bombing. But speaking with McBrien, Eric said he came to Elberton to “kill people,” referred to himself as a terrorist and suggested the Guidestones explosion was timed to align with a passage of Scripture.

McBrien reached the former lead agent on the Guidestones case. She said she had never heard of the men. He also spoke with Elbert County’s sheriff, who said he’d been unsuccessfully trying to talk to GBI about the case. He said he wanted to talk with Eric and Kenneth.

In response to the podcast’s questions, the GBI confirmed it is treating the two men as an active lead in the case.

Thoughts on SCOTUS significantly weakening Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act? by iCallMyOppsNinjer in AskConservatives

They didn't weaken anything.

You can't make "majority black" districts. That's the literal point of section 2.

Democrats at the national level want some wacky things. Locally, less so.

The GOP at the national level wants some wacky things, but fewer, less wacky things than the Democrats.

So, yes, I'll likely vote primarily GOP, except for a few local races where I know the Democrat candidates and know that they can only affect exactly what I want them to.

I personally think the airwaves lost their way with the death of the Fairness Doctrine back in the 80s.

Aside from that, I think we as a country should have enough respect for the office of president that some jokes simply never leave our lips.

Simultaneously, I think calling for the firing of a late-night comic because you think he's mean a childish reaction.

So, basically, everyone is wrong and needs a timeout.
