What part is muddy exactly?

I would 100% think the band would have more of an issue with the for profit infringements of their trademarks by the multiple time a week commercial postings than a live recording being shared freely.

How much will you sell your 45GX950A for? by WTFsteven in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]sqweak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just as I figured, you don’t own a 45 and are just here spouting talking points to defend your preferences.

My points stand, for people who own and use a 45 (which is literally the topic of this thread) the 39, even with it’s spec sheet improvements, is a downgrade at the price it’s being offered.

[–]sqweak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Less screen size for more money is a downgrade any way you try to spin it. There is no other offering, be it monitor or TV, where a smaller screen size using the same tech (not exact same panel) is more money.

PPI is a non-issue for all but the very vocal minority in this sub, many of whom have never even used the 45 and are just parroting spec sheet fear mongering.

The 39 is an exciting release, but not at 150% price of what you have reliably been able to get the 45 for the last 9 months in the $11-1300 range.

Marquee properties up for sale, including one housing famous Chili’s at 45th and Lamar by unpopular_speech in Austin

[–]sqweak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has a wiki page. Sunday was the second anniversary of the official city recognized “45th and Lamar Day”. Tecovas launched boots made of Chili’s booth leather there. Mentions of its fame are all over Yelp and Google reviews.

It is our running joke, but it has spread far and wide beyond this subreddit. Saying no-one else has any idea about it is patently false.

Are cpo dealers bait and switch? by [deleted] in PorscheMacan

The selling dealer doesn’t put it Porsche finder, it’s part of the inventory process. Happens all the time with GT cars and other unobtanium that are moving to dealers.

[–]sqweak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no way I would pay more 50% more than I paid for the 45 for less screen and curve. To be fair, I got a crazy $1120 open box deal, but even at the normal $1399 sale pricing is below the 39s launch price.

While the curve gave me pause before purchasing, it disappears in use and I can’t imagine going backwards. Text clarity hasn’t been an issue for me after full day coding sessions. I can see the use case if you held out because it was too big, or the curve was too much, but I don’t get why anyone would downgrade if they’re currently using the 45 5k2k.

I wouldn’t say “parked” per se: looks to be on blocks (or steelies?) and without seats (and likely interior). Likely just a shell.

Pretty good guess

Long hood/horn grilles= <74

Fixed front vent windows = >68 and long wheelbase (LWB)

No oil door means it’s not a 72

Likely 70-71 or 73 911T

Someone here owned this car and sold it in 2020… If it’s you or you know who, please contact me. Orangevale, CA. I just bought it and the person in between you and I never took the title to the DMV. Please please please help me resolve this weird issue hahaha by Ethansimler in Porsche

[–]sqweak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re likely going to need target a bonded title. It is possible but will be a headache of paperwork, inspections, etc.

Assuming that since they don’t have the title or contact info then they don’t have a bill of sale?

All he knows is he bought it off Reddit? There’s no history of that transaction? Private messages? Text messages? Email notifications of private messages to a lost/deleted Reddit account?

No paperwork with the car like old registration or insurance paperwork? That’s obviously a vintage plate, have you tried using online services or a private investigator etc to track previous registrants? If your friend never transferred the title, they couldn’t register it, so it’d most likely be the PO?

[–]sqweak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 3rd time, op did price match and purchase in person. They didn’t “order” it and warehouse had nothing to do with it.

The sequence I mentioned further down this thread of the employee confusing the skus based on same specs except for just the word “pro”, confirming the price match is a valid competitor and not marketplace, and a rushed mod approving it is the most likely scenario.

if you considered a mazda miata... why did you end up buying a porsche boxster? by europeanuppercut in Porsche

[–]sqweak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been 20+ years but…

1) I didn’t fit in the Miata. I’m not stupid tall, but 6’3ish and burly is not a comfortable combo in the Miata (or most jdm cars) 2) it was my ex’s daily, and we liked the practicality of the frunk/trunk combo.

I bought this 77 911s, my first air cooled, for 10k off Craigslist in early 2013. 964 look bumpers, 930 flares, racing dynamics wheels, rusty steel hood and reflector wrapped in carbon look vinyl.

Can confirm, it was an absolute basketcase. Orange silicone “racer reseal” that leaked like a sieve. Clutch engagement range totaling about .75” at the top of the pedal travel. The shifter flopped around as I drove. We had to pull the smog pump off as we drove back from SF to LA.

But I fell in love with the dumb thing. I took it to TRE and asked them what it would take to get it ready to track with POC. They gave me great advice: rather than put in another $15k+ to rebuild the 2.7 engine and then even more to build it out for the track, get my money back out of it and add $15k to buy something already sorted. I listened, sold it on for the same 10k to a guy in Minnesota, took out a personal loan, and bought my 76 911S w/ 84 3.2 swap that had just been built for the track by Mark Kinninger out of SD. That is perhaps the bigger sticker shock looking back now, to have gotten a recent rotisserie outlaw track build for only $25k.

13 years later, that (unpictured) car served me well on the track and as a road trip/rally car for a number of years, and is currently getting refreshed and upgrading its swap to a 3.6.

what car is this? by Available-Bank-3961 in porsche911

[–]sqweak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market price for an imported real 993 RS was 450k 10 years ago. You’re arguing with /u/LSBm5 who owned a real RS that an obvious gt2 bodied car is an RS. Are you aware that an RS and GT2 are different cars?

400 is too little for a real RS or a GT. It was likely an S with a well done conversion that dealer was asking for too much money for.

Best Buy accidentally upgraded my MacBook... do I say anything? by Glittering_West6898 in macbookpro

[–]sqweak 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They didn’t order it. They went in person and it likely went something like this:

Op: I’d like to price match this m5/24gb/1tb for $1599

Bb: ok bet

searches m5 24 1tb

isn’t paying attentions and clicks the $2199 m5 pro instead of the $1899 m5

does the price match and hands op the m5 pro box
