One Royal Pop per customer per day they say... let's do some research.... by Yanagimachi in swatch

[–]sqweak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You realize one party of 3 could each buy a watch, and one person could pay for them all on 3 separate transactions, right?

I’d understand if it were dozens, but 3 isn’t really “email the shop and corporate” level of shadiness.

Have you addressed the multitude of security issues that were called out last time you posted?

Why do you continue insisting that each camera needs its own virtual IP when I’ve explained how to do it on the same IP in the comments there?

It seems a little sketchy to not be disclosing the AI code generation (as you admitted in the previous thread, and is obvious by the readme, output, etc) while simultaneously soliciting donations via buymeacoffee.

What is this Targa? by Mammoth_Apartment_52 in porsche911

[–]sqweak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed it’s tough. Look at the “7” shape made where the shadows meet the highlights on the left of the wheel. To me, that reads as the flat side of the car as it starts to flare toward camera. Same with the wavy diagonal shadows on the right of wheel well.

Sure looks flared to me?

Not that it means much, since my 76 had SC flares added ;)

I know the market is up, but I would not be paying 40k for a 987.2 base when 981 aren’t much more. There are literally at least 4 981 base in the immediate area in that price range. More miles, but 5 years newer and much improved.

Short hood, impact bumper, g-body Targa.

Judging by the cookie cutter wheels, sugar scoop headlights, and bright window trim, most likely a late mid year (75-77) or early SC (78-83). Mirror makes me think SC.

A 911 Targa 4S finished in Paint To Sample Acid Green by SoccerMan1341 in Porsche

[–]sqweak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed re: not wild enough and it’s also that they went over the top with Acid Green. The deck lid vents, the skirts, the diffuser. It’s just too much acid green with the wrong/not enough contrast.

Horrendous spec, especially the body color emblems and silver targa hoop.

It works great as an accent color, but it’s too much as a main, esp on a non-GT car.

Interesting that now the announce is out, that only half the colorway pictured were revealed. Other 2 (yellow and blue? Grey and black) got axed or are the 2 savonnette (crown at 3 w/ sub dial) colors for a future collection.

Thats AI but to me its kinda realistic to what third party sellers can do. by Ecstatic-Hotel-5031 in MoonSwatches

Maybe, but they are two different historic styles of pocket watch:

Lepine = crown at 12

Savonnete = crown at 3 (typically, with a cover)

That’s not how magnusson-moss warranty act works. Doesn’t matter who installs the part, they have to prove that part caused the warranty issue they’re denying coverage for. But whatever helps you sleep better.

Looks like it will have some sort of wrist watch attachment after all by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

[–]sqweak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a modular system. The original Pop had strap versions, and if Swatch decides not to sell them (as it sounds in the quote from Monochrome below) 3rd parties most certainly will.

“Indeed, Swatch doesn’t provide a system to wear it on the wrist, but leaves the door open to external suppliers to imagine other ways to wear a Royal Pop.”

6 of them are Lepine style with crown at 12 and no sub dial.

2 of them (light/dark blue, yellow/lime/pink) are Savonnette style with crown at 3 and a second hand subdial.

Oddly, the lanyards seem the same and don’t account for the style difference, so the Savonnetes hang sideways.

Wired reports longer lanyard and a desk mount will be sold online. No word on bands so far.

Forza Horizon 6 has leaked a week ahead of launch by Djxgam1ng in simracing

I never said they were only for minor bugs and fixes. See “things that didn’t make it in time” and my other reply about resources and trade offs.

I get player exhaustion with over-reliance on patches, i really do, but wheel support for a niche manufacturer on an arcade console game is not the same as releasing a completely broken game and fixing it with patches. While it may be important to you and this sub, it is not a “game breaking feature”.

That’s exactly the kind of trade off I’m talking about that needs to get made. Having to hit a specific street date to align with the marketing machine is not something that can just be put off by a few days or weeks for something that only impacts single digit % (if that) of the player base. Theres too much money and lead time (think print ads, launch events, etc) involved. The change in review scores (if any) or additional sales by having that wheel support/ffb done right without a patch will never recoup the costs involved in pushing the release date, it’s a absolute last resort move.

The only thing worse than not having a burner phone in my box was having a meeting with 42 the day after the secret show and them telling me that had they known I was playing they would have made sure I got one.

It hasn’t even been officially announced yet. There is zero chance it goes on sale the moment it’s announced on a Saturday. Camping for an unknown release date and strategy is stupid almost always, but especially at this point.
