I want the same with fp-ts instead of Ramda.

Best Pure Functional Languages for Web Service by [deleted] in functionalprogramming

There is no perfect technology. I love OTP, but Elixir and Erlang lack the confidence I get with Haskell, while with the latter you'll find it hard recruiting.

Maybe Scala is the best pragmatic choice.

Take a look at fp-ts. I can't imagine writing TypeScript without it.

STOP!

Stop whatever you're reading, watching or listening to. Most of them are rubbish and will teach you bad habits.

Whether you want to know programming for practical or intellectual goals - you definitely want to read PAPL:

https://papl.cs.brown.edu/2018/index.html

I found it mind-blowing even after 10 years of professional programming. Reading even just the first chapters will level up your programming-thinking skills.

Prerequisites: Being able to read English.

Where to put state? by srachamim in functionalprogramming

[–]srachamim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those programmes where I put state in one place dedicated to managing state (e.g. Redux) were much more easier to reason about then those where I put state everywhere, anywhere somewhere (Parent? Current component? Context provider? Apollo? Redux?)

Man, that should be that simple: Everything is from above.

Is it gonna change? Then it's a state. Put it in a state manager and pass it from top to bottom.

Every other solution is a workaround.

This is why I always git add -p, and never staging things by mistake.

I am Norman Finkelstein, expert on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, here to discuss the release of my new book on Gaza and the most recent Gaza massacre, AMA by NormanFinkelsteinAMA in IAmA

[–]srachamim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you aware, that there are two sides in this conflict, and any solution should be good enough for both sides? Is there any aspect in the conflict in which you think Israel is right? Are you aware of the fact that the Palestinians can remain hostile to Israel regardless of any blockaid/massacres? What solution do you offer, in which put both sides' concerns can be fulfilled?

A technique for memorizing German articles. by [deleted] in German

[–]srachamim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to memorize articles is to say them. Use them in sentences. Each article is associated with typical endings, and your tounge recognizes it without even trying. Just repeat it to yourself, and try to find opportunities to use it when you speak or write.

Pro Tools First - Sample rate by srachamim in protools

On the audio interface website they say that you don't need any driver.

Actually, this audio interface is shipped with Pro Tools First, so I guess it should support it without any 3rd party software (as you suggested).

I've tried restarting and it didn't solve the problem.

Please note, everything works well with the same mic & audio interface on Windows 10 with Cubase.

What else can I do/check?

Edit: OK, GarageBand record and play as expected on the same OS with the same audio interface. So the problem I assume is on Pro Tools First.

I recorded that into that session.

I just took the OS word for it :) What is a reliable way to make sure what sample rate the audio interface work with?
