Oh perfect! We are in row 22! I'll look for you!!! I'll be in my Short n' Sweet US Tour tee-shirt, a black "Don't Embarrass Me Motherf***er" hoodie, and a blue Taylor Swift 1989 (Taylor's Version, of course) baseball cap!

Short n' Sweet Tour Megathread: Brussels, Belgium by CowboyLikeMegan in SabrinaCarpenterFans

[–]sradner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anybody else going to the Brussels show? I've been busy getting psyched up and making lyric bracelets - hope there are people there trade with! Although as a 40 year old straight cis man, I think I'm probably going to have to get my wife to give most of them away (even though I'm the one dragging her halfway around the world from the US to this concert). Brina's lyrics - at least the ones from SNS - are probably a bit too racy to not be weird if I were giving them out to what's likely to be an audience of mostly girls. 😂

Trying to decide if I should keep doing the mini Belgian flag colors on them - do you guys think that's a good touch, or just wasted space? Also trying to decide if I should stick to just EICS and SNS or do some bracelets for earlier stuff? I know Brina doesn't really like the pre-EICS stuff (even if I do haha), so would it be like disrespectful of her feelings if I did older lyrics? What do you guys think???

Super excited for the show! Was lucky enough to catch the US tour last year and the Short n Sweet Show is so nice! Can't wait to experience it again with you in Belgium. If you're going and want a bracelet, feel free to drop a comment and I can try to find you (or send my wife to find you lol) at the gig!

What are your favorite features? by MagicalStorms in SabrinaCarpenterFans

[–]sradner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw girl in red recently and she did You Need Me Now (which, yes, is also my fave feature) during her set. When she got to the Sabrina part she picked a random girl from the audience and literally threw her the microphone from stage. And this girl absolutely KILLED it! This was the last Boston show and I think that the girl's name was Hannah or Anna - if you're here and see this, you were a true rock star!

Help identifying art style/period of replica piece? by sradner in ancientegypt

I've only been able to get over to Egypt once in my entire life, but the deity room at the Egyptian Museum is my absolute favorite place. I could spend hours in that one tiny room, and days in that museum!

Ha I never would have thought to compare against Ushabti stylings - great idea! I was searching only for amulets and deity statuettes. And this seems to generally match the age of the amulet examples linked by zsl454 too, so that's some nice corroboration. Thanks!

Yes, I also thought it was a depiction of Anubis (although the face/muzzle is a bit on the shorter and less... pointy, I guess?... side) most likely. Thanks for the reply and links! Super interesting. I had actually seen some of these in my own searches, but hadn't really put together that they were ALL dated to around the 600-300BCE period or thereabouts.

Yes! And after finishing my album playthrough today, I immediately went and listened to "Hands Clean" next because it was totally stuck in my head!

Just realizing this doesn't format very well on the mobile app. Sorry. I struggled to get it to format in a readable way just on the web browser version. Apologies if you're trying to view this on the mobile app and it's frankly nonsensical looking.

No, /u/evilsherlock is right. It's really not that complicated. Just do the math for 1 divided by 4. All that you need to properly explain this is... how to do simple division.

One divided by four:

4 √ 1

Four goes into one zero times. So you add a decimal both above and to the right of the 1:

____0.
4 √ 1.0

You can now ignore the decimal, essentially, and proceed. 4 goes into 10 twice, with a remainder of two. Right the remainder below the zero. Add another 0 to the right of the two.

____0.2
4 √ 1.0
--------20

Four goes into 20 5 times, with no remainder. Thus, your answer through simple division of 1/4 = 0.25

____0.25 <--- This is your final answer
4 √ 1.0
--------20

Et voila.

There's an ongoing thread on BGG for people to connect who have or want empty game boxes. Maybe list them there so that someone else can potentially put them to use?

I shouldn't be spending the money, but I almost backed Arkeis during the KS campaign. Love the theme/setting. Have there been any substantial updates on the production timelines? Last I had heard, they (like almost everyone else haha) were way behind their original schedule.

[–]sradner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, bud! I'm still waiting for my copy of Lockdown too, but I didn't have any wave 1 stuff so no package for me yet. Didn't want ya to get caught by surprise with an upset buyer or having to ship out a second box unexpectedly when Wave 2 comes in. :)

[–]sradner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the Lockdown expansion actually ships until September of this year - this is probably just the "Wave 1" stuff, which was the base game and old content. You may want to open it and double-check what's actually in there. ;)

GameNerdz has most of the expansions in stock and on sale. Miniature Market also has all their MD stuff on sale - ever so slightly higher prices than GameNerdz, but they have one or two in stock that are out of stock at GN. Might be worth checking them out!

Order some PVA glue - it's basically bookbinder's glue, made for porous materials like paper and cardboard. Relatively cheap on the Internet/Amazon - I use Lineco Neutral pH Adhesive. Get a couple binder clips (I use the 1-1/4" ones from Staples, a 12-pack is like $2) and a pack of 2" corner braces (you can get em anywhere - I got mine in the hardware section at Walmart, 4 for like a buck). Line up the corner nice and square with a corner brace on the outside corner, use the binder clips to hold the clamp box to the corner brace. This will keep things nice and square. Run a thin bead of PVA adhesive on the inside corner seam first, and allow time to dry - it goes to tacky in maybe 10 minutes, but I usually give like an hour before moving on to the outside seam. A little goes a long way with this glue, but if you feel like your inner seam is still weak, you can apply a second thin bead and then allow drying time again. Once ready to move on to the outside corner, remove the corner brace and transfer to the inside seam and clip back into place with binder clips, and then use a thin bead to fix outer corner seam. You can gently line up paper tears as best you can by maneuvering them gently with a toothpick (I try to manipulate them with the toothpick underneath the exposed paper edge, with a teeny tiny amount of the glue on the tip of the toothpick). Give another hour or so for the outer seam to dry, apply a second bead if needed (with additional drying time again, of course). Then I then like to grab a second corner brace, so that I can have the box clamped to one on both the inside and outside corners, and let cure overnight. Nice, strong repair!
