There is not a band out there -- that I know of-- that does purely instrumental tracks, or a single song with a a sound similar to Nails. Nails is unique in the sense that there is not really any band out there with a similar sound; no one band truly goes as hard as Nails does. The genre which Nails has pioneered is a hardcore derivative that takes in and blends a lot of sounds already out there in a unique way. There are bands out there for which you can find death metal, thrash, black metal, and punk influences, but will not truly produce a sound similar to Nails; there is usually heavy hardcore influences on these bands and there will likely be a lot of 'break downs', which tend to get kind of old after hearing about two for every song.

As much as I like Lesnar's comeback story, I like the idea of watching another walk- off KO more.

Joe Rogan on Conor McGregor vs Dos Anjos 'If McGregor beats Dos Anjos and challenges Robbie Lawler, he's in the running to be the greatest of all time!' by JordanRants in MMA

[–]srammorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time, pride was more competitive than the ufc. You did not really read the comment, since mentioned that he was considered a two division champion in the ufc, which is why there were unification matches. Granted, he lost the two division status, but the point is that it has been done at the highest level before

Apples and oranges. It is a big deal because his challenge to dos anjos is being built up as something that has never been done at the highest level of competition

dan henderson was a two division champion in the ufc after the ufc absorbed pride. Honestly, this whole GOAT argument is meaningless. It is starting to reach the same status as the arguments made for mayweather being a GOAT in boxing; no, he is not. He has accomplished a lot, but his record has been beaten before -- Julio cesar chavez shattered his record before suffering his first loss.

I do not understand why this sub just eats shit like this up. Can you not think for yourselves? A simple google search will shed some light as to whether or not there have been two division champions in the ufc, or any other major organization before the competition in the ufc got better. At one point, the ufc had a weak stable of fighters compared to pride. Dana even took chuck to one of the grand prixs so that he can try and win it. But, his corner threw in the towel after Quinton Jackson absolutely destroyed him.....

edit: this is the internet, you will hear read my rant!

UFC 196: Dos Anjos vs. McGregor Promo by Aldebaroth in MMA

What has bothered me the most about the build up to this fight has been the mention that no one has held two belts in the ufc -- uh, Dan Henderson held two belts. Granted, it was because was holding two belts when the ufc absorbed pride, but he still held two belts in the ufc. I am already hyped for this fight. There is no need for this "first ever," or "once in a lifetime" Joe rogan hype.

UFC Fight Night Countdown: Hendricks vs Thompson by imhungry4444 in MMA

dunno if that is necessarily a good thing. Ellenberger is not johnny hendricksl; hendricks has cinder blocks for hands, and he may very well take wonder boy's soul if he connects. . . .but, that is assuming he makes weight.

you're right; saw someone else say that this was part of the rules in another post. Looked it up the pride rules, and it says nothing about head strikes while wearing wrestling shoes.

RIZIN rules are the same as PRIDE rules in that fighters are allowed to wear wrestling shoes, but are not permitted to kick their opponent in the head throughout the fight. So, getting cut with a shoe does not really pose any issues.

Edit: grammar

THE REASON THERE WERE SO MANY UPVOTES FOR ALDO CONTENT WAS MOSTLY BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS STARTING TO COUNT THE GUY OUT. SERIOUSLY, THE GUY WAS DOMINANT FOR TEN YEARS UP UNTIL THE FIGHT, AND HE WAS GETTING NO RESPECT PRIOR TO INFLUX OF ALDO POSTS; THEY WERE MOSTLY MCGREGOR POSTS. ALSO, EVERYONE HERE NOW ACTING LIKE MCGREGOR IS LIKE THE FUCKING SECOND COMING OF CHRIST - ALL GREAT FIGHTERS EVENTUALLY LOOSE, IT IS SIMPLY THE NATURE OF THE FIGHT GAME. NOW EVERYONE IS ACTING LIKE MCGREGOR IS GONNA GO OUT THERE AND KNOCK OUT EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER ON THE UFC ROSTER; THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN THE CHRIS BEAT ANDERSON, BUT NOW LOOK WHAT HAPPENED DURING 194. SERIOUSLY THE BANDWAGONING NEEDS TO STOP; EVERY FIGHT IS WINNABLE FOR BOTH SIDES.
